Crash Kit Advice for a Professional Crasher
Hi Guys,
Well I got this kit from Heliproz fantastic deal and have this $100 gift certificate to deal with. Due to my great ability at impacting the ground I thought maybe I should invest it in repair parts early, as they will certainly be needed. main shafts, feathering shafts, blades, booms etc. pretty much go without saying but are you guys seeing other stuff get torn up? I see a lot of posts about trashed servos so I'd better get a gross of them. Other than that though, any consistent items that you would include in a crash kit? Fly safe... t

Torque tubes
Front TT gear sets (you'll probably go through quite a few of these if you crash regularly) Head blocks are pretty soft as well and easily damaged.

Is that the shaft that drives the tail?

Add these to the list:
flybar tail rotor shaft landing gear (unless you're using Gorilla Gear)

If you want to lower your crash costs...
Invest in a sim.

So Main, feathering and tail shafts, front gears, blades and boom etc. I appreciate it.. Best regards, Tom

here's my list of stuff (that you should probably) get:
main shafts*** feathering shafts*** flybars** paddles (they break somewhat easily in crashes with high headspeed)* main bearings** grip bearings (both inners and outers)* main grips* head block* main gears (big drive gear)** Torque tubes (get the ones with two tubes and one boom)** carbon boom (Carbon boom is awesome! Well worth the price IMO)* front torque tube gears (gonna need loads of these)********* tail shafts** tail blades (I recommend K&B's, but stock work great)*** main blades (get the wood blades for learning)*** 12t pinion* Gorilla gear skids (yellow, orange, green....anything but the black ones!)* 410M gears sets (if using Super combo servos)** 520 gear sets (ditto 410M's)* tail grip assy* Spare screws* spare swash-to-head links* That about covers all you are going to need. I marked the more commonly repaired/replaced stuff with ***. Somewhat common gets **, and stuff you want to have just in case, or infrequently repaired but critical to have get a single *.

My advice has nothing to do with specific parts... but if I need a replacement component I *always* buy 2x. I figure if I've broken it once I'm likely to break it again and a second spare means I won't have to wait for UPS before I can fly again after the next crash.

A lot of it depends on LHS availability. If you have to mail/internet order everything, then you want to have a good stockpile going of specific parts. If you have 3 or 4 shops, then you really don't have to worry as much because you can always just walk in and get it, or they'll have a shipment in soon thereafter.
I try to keep a parts box going according to how often it goes out. Having flown a Trex 450 V1 for nearly 3 years, I had a fair assesment of what to expect in a crash. But when I got to the Pro, the rules got re-written. The Pro easily goes through twice as many parts in a crash, so you have to keep a pretty high stock of everything regardless of LHS support. Seems most of the time I can make it into a shop, they never have everything I need, so it's more of a "get it while the gettin's good!" type of thing. Even though it wreaks havoc on my finances, I can almost never be grounded due to lack of spares. Everyone has to go at their own pace though.

Is it recommend to have everything Align or Tarot stuff works just as fine. I am guessing for stocking everything align you will need to break bank.

Yeah, Mon_T has the Infinity shopping down to an art. I've never ordered from there, but plan on doing so pretty quick here. Stocking all genuine Align stuff gets really ridiculous on this heli, so you're much better off getting the 'knockoff' stuff (Align actually makes the Tarot so it's virtually identical).

Almost ready for the first power up with weighted skids, finally got the tail done. Figured I'd track and test on the floor as usual. Anybody shop at HeliProz? Looking at the 450 Pro parts it looks like in the pics you get 2 main shafts, 2 feathering shafts etc. for the price. Is this the case?
Best regards, Tom
