Default Vector 700 Speed pictures

Thats where I am after starting my build.. Steps 1.1 to 2.2 are done. With the time to droll over the kit, setting tools, taking a few pictures, do the house cores in between before the wife return, and assemble those components, took 3 hours with the 1 hour soaking of the main rotor head dampers ( see other treat about this), So far, I am very pleased with the quality of the parts and hardware. I am awaiting my Scorpion 4530 540 KV with the long 8 mm shaft to continue my build. By the way..if some of you wonder, purchased my kit through Hobby-Wing since they offered 5 % off. The order then went to RJX Hobby that contacted me and follow up with the order. Hobby-Wing did too. Cannot be more happy about my purchase experience and I two great girls taking care of me !

Very pretty pictures!

Also interesting that Hobby-Wing takes orders for the Vector...never knew that was possible. I've ordered small Walkera stuff from them before but an exotic like the Vector?

I don't think that anyone is carrying spares over here in the UK.

I ordered a few spares, the screw kit and tail rotor belt. Took about 6 days to make it from RJX to Canada.

Looks nice, but I cant grasp the design phylosophy behind the aerodynamics. Doesn't appear to be very aerodynamic at a negative AOA as is typical of a speed run with a heli.

Anybody log any numbers yet?

This is a very light aiframe within a strealined fiberglass fuselage. What dont you grasp ??
Have you looked at a Goblin speed - Diabolo -Banshee - TDR ?
For those who did,its quite clear...

Yes, of course I have, this is why I am asking the question.

The wide flaring of the tail boom and blunt edges at the base.

The banshee, diabolo s, and TDR speed fuselages all share the same basic design convention... they all have a teardrop profile similar to that of an aircraft wing. This fuse seems to follow a design philosophy more in like with FAI/F3C fuselages, sort of like the Goblin urukay.

You see how this fuse is streamlines, taking into account airflow at a considerable negative AOA.

Why didn't they design something more tapered?

Why? Well because it's not a dedicated "speed" heli like a Guai R5. It's more of a hybrid 3D/speed machine like the Goblin Speed.
