Default Night blades on a flybar.

Getting ready to make my first night blades. Is there any reason not to do it on my FB Velocity 50? I've been told to expect some disk wobble if I don't convert to FBL. Would love to have a nitro night flyer. Feel free to chime in if you ever had any good or bad luck with a FB night rig.

I've got 3 flybarred birds sitting here that say it will not be an issue.

Had night blades on everything flybarred from a 450 to a 600.

I think one of those FBL fanatics might be pulling your chain a bit.

First of all, thanks. Seems like making main blades won't be that bad once I do all my shopping. Been looking at the Rotortech 610 luminous. Just not sure if I like the fact the top looks very similar to bottom. I love the way the FB feels on this heli. No reason to upgrade just yet.

I've done about 10 sets of night blades now, mostly 450 size cause I used to crash those little things frequently. Not sure if you have the time or the inclination to tackle DIY night blades but they are well worth it IMHO.

I did have one set of off the shelf Align 325 CF night blades once. What a disappointment. They were only half as bright as the home made variety since the leds are located under plastic lenses.

Definitely recommend the DIY variety. Just dont look directly at them when you first power them up. The way I make them they are easily as bright as led strips on 3s.

My next set should be dialed in properly. I'm experimenting with 3s 240mah packs and those new COB leds mounted on the blades. No more tiny lit circles, these things make fully bright halos in the sky.

Just in case anyone wants to know, I completed my build and got in about 3 flights. Do far so good. Can't wait for warmer weather!
