hey bob.. i tried all the settings from the futaba 7c you were suggesting and i had my first trex hover today.. and i'll tell ya it flies beautifully!! everything is right on!! mind you it took me a long time to adjust all the ball links and blades to get the correct pitches and mixes so nothing was touching in either way (i diddnt even have to track the blades).. i couldnt beleive how on point i had everything!!
thanks again for all your help and for doing those videos!!
i only have one question for ya.. i was hovering and i tried to do a quick maneuver to aileron left and almost lost the tail completely to the right (nose left) and came close to wipeing out.. (i almost crapped in my pants..lol) but i was wondering, you dont mention in any of your videos what you set the 401 gyro's gain to?? my limit is correct and the reversing is correct.. i am using a futaba digital 9650 servo on the tail.. also my verticle tail fin vibrates alot (i do not have the sticker on it).. is that normal??
thanks again, you've already been such a big help!!

Most Trexs with Futaba radios in the GY menu and set for AVCS run between 31 and 40%.

At full pitch and low pitch is your swash plate level then too? e.g. not just center stick? How are the blades tracking? do they have the same pitch? You have used a p[itch guage yes?

Again move this to the Trex450 forum.

31% - 40% in the futaba GY menu correct??
i'm sorry i actually meant the "delay" dial on the actual 401 gyro itself, there are 2 level dials, one is "limit" and the other is "delay", what do u like to set your "delay" dial to??
thanks

Say Bob, Do you happen to have a set up video for the Futaba 7CHP on a trex 600?
I have problems with mine can't figure it out. I know you have for the 9Z.
I have the 7CHP and the DX6.
Thanks
Bill

Not for the Trex600 but the 7chp was what I used for the Trex450 CCPM set 1 and 2 and pitch and throttle curves.

Finless BOb,
Greetings from Mexico!

THANK you. Your videos have been very helpful and I have to applaud the effort in making them and sharing. I’ve been flying on and off a shuttle ZXX for a few years and got started on Trex recently. Thanks to you It has been great to understand the small details that makes building, repairing and flying a pleasure.

I have a question, I might be thick headed: arggg: or just didn’t understand regarding the orientation of ball links.

When snapping a link on a ball, the link has to be inserted "larger diameter” first?
meaning the smaller diameter stays on the screw’s head side?
Thanks

Yes this is correct but the EASY way to tell is there is an A on one side of each link. Just make sure the A is facing out from the ball.

This is a note to everybody who has viewed Bobs (Finless) videos, and a note of thanks to Bob.

I just finished my first series of flights (2.5 packs) with my TREX. Bob's head and servo setup instructions are great, if you follow them, you will have a heli that is flyable and behaves right off the bench.

I will post the results of my flights in the TREX 450 area.

Hi ! I have another question.
Pinions and main rotor RPMs :?: I fly @ 6000 feet, so thin air is the problem.
In one of your videos you mentioned for aerobatics RPMs should be 3000.
should I go higher?
Thanks

Just viewed the General Maintenance video, and a video is worth a million words.

I discovered:

-My Pinion was too tight
-A mixing lever had some slop
-The flybar is a little tight

Great video. These will all be refered to again and again.

Thanks.
