Default X7 Crown Gear material composition downgrade?

I just received a new package of 66T crown gears, part number 217175. These new gears are made out of the pure white Nylon looking material which in my experience has always been the weaker, least impact resistant between the black and white gears.I hope the bevel gears haven't changed also. Anyone know why they decided to do this?

I'm wondering if it is softer plastic. The black crown gear would practically sing if you dropped it on the ground it was so hard. I think a softer plastic would cut down on noise and would deform slightly instead of stripping teeth clean off.
