Default Brown stuff on piston?

Today after flying my YS 96 for a bit I took out my glow plug which looked a nice whitish charcoal color which is good if I remember correctly from watching Tim Jones video. However, I noticed some brown stuff that looked kinda like resin on the piston. I flew some more and looked at it again and some of the brown was gone and it was nice and shiny where the brown once was. I heard that brown means lean but this brown looks like it can be wiped off and goes/comes away with running. Is this normal and what is it?

I would guess is it depends on the fuel.
If there is caster oil in the fuel, that would definitely cause a brown residue.

I cannot really see the picture. It is blurry and I don't really know what I am looking at.

That is just depositing. If it was lean you would have a distorted glow plug, some sand blasting on the piston or head. So if your not missing power and it ruins good I would not worry about it.

Check the plug. If its dull or distorted then you are lean. If its wet and blacking on the tip of the plug but still in good form then your fine.

No need to check the plug unless you feel like its been running too lean or too rich. The coil on the plug will be bent or pushed in if its been running lean and the piston will have a sandpaper look to it. Too rich will just have weak power and lots of smoke. A little brown color on is nothing to worry about.
