Default Trex 700 Nitro Project Solidworks

I got into the rc helicopters a while back and I wanted to make a 3d cad model I did the 450 pro though I give a shot to the Trex 700. Its Solidworks model completely reverse engineered from manual very accurate might be off by a mm or two. all parts fit and work correctly even the gears mesh correctly only tolerances are not set. I can share whatever parts people might need

Wow, very nice. I use SW too, that's a lot of work especially reverse engineered. Just curious, do you assign the actual materials for each part in the as you are developing? If so, ever worked out overall weight in the assembly mode or CG / 3D centroid in that respect?

The CG render material assignment was made in Keyshot the render. But in Soldiworks as you model the part you can assign the material and solidworks will calculate weight strength and other properties. So when you have the assembly everything is ready. I didnt go too deep into material assignment and stress analysis on each part my main concert was dimension and fitting of the parts.

Would love to have a set as well! I'm stretching my 600 ESP to a 700 and looking to design my own custom frame. Would be great to have this model for a sense of scale and the tail specifically. Thanks, and happy new year!

Any chance of the having a copy of the files. Looking to try and put my jetcat in a 700n. Email pandgi@hotmail.com
That's an amazing effort and a lot of work. I use solid works daily so appreciate the effort that's gone into it.
Thank you if you can help.

Nice work on the canopy. I have some solidworks ability but I've never figured out how to draw stuff like that.

I'd like to try and machine that shape and vacuum form some polycarbonate sheet over it. Why are all heli canopies made of fibreglass anyway?
