On the plastic frame there is 43mm between the pitch and roll arms. I have heard of guys putting spacers behind them to run larger diameter motors, but I haven't done it myself.

If you are thinking of a mega-powerful motor then the plastic frame is not the one for you !!!

What about the G-10 frame? What is that space? My motor is 42mm wide.

G10 frame? Do Gaui make one...
They do plastic and CF to my knowledge.

42mm diameter motor will fit on a CF frame but it is good to go with big front gear (60t.. 50t might also work) as this helps push the motor forwards and increases clearance from the pitch and roll arms.

There are two very similar looking frames - one in G10 (that has holes for mini-servos) and one in CF (that has holes for mini and standard servos) - yours is the CF one

G-10 fiber:

CF:

Biggest diff I see are servos and gyro mounting.

On motor question - IMHO anything up to 45mm should fit with no mod. And as UKG said the bigger the gearing is (50 or 60T) the better for the motor space is.

Ohh OK had not seen that one. I wonder why they felt the need to bring out yet another 425 frame...

I guess it does plug the gap between the very low cost plastic and the $150 XF carbon (which is a lovely frame - I have 2 of those, one in use & a backup piece in its box )... but it ain't X5 like (or X4) because it does not have the direct to swash servo mounts.

Putting all that aside it looks remarkeably like the XF CF frame (the bottom one in the pics above) and the metal fittings all look very similar too so I would expect the same spacing on pitch and roll arms.

Hi milliotseb,

I feel your fustration my friend, I am in your similar situation too. I bough the cheaper G10 frame. but only to realised that it could not take stardard servo
End up needing to buy Hitect5245 mini servo for the frame.
I should have buy the carbon fiber frame from the start

Gaui if you are watching/reading here, please improve discprition in your product

The G10 frame come pre-drill with 2 holes for the mini servo.
Do take note of that, choose your servo with 2 mounting holes on the servo case.

Thee are much stronger than the plastic frame
