This is the 37th flight on my NX. 5S4000 and Castle ICE 100. The wind was in my face so I let the loop get a little too close in!

Nice. Hey, I didn't think they made the Nx back in 1980. Lol

Hfenn

Looks like you were having fun - that is the bottom line.

P.S. So that is the problem re the dating on the top left of the screen. I guess my camera also sometimes suffers a bit from Alzheimer....as do I on occasion.

Mall static show this weekend so no flying the big birds, but did get to treat the kids with my SR120. I let then "fondle" the 120 and hold the TX while it hovered hands off for a few seconds. I laid the TX on top of their hands so they couldn't touch the sticks. You shoud have seen their eyes light up

I'm sure most pilots will consider this boring but this is my kind of flying. It always puts a simile on my face to shoot approaches. That's basically the type of flying I do and I can't get enough of it. Nice of you to share the video. Great looking helicopter...

Glad you liked it darmie,

I had a lot of fun flying for it.

I get a big kick out of seeing the landing gear retract after take off and extending for the landings, Another fun maneuver that I like is doing run on landings, even with my Long Ranger and Bell 47 that use skids instead of wheels.

Nice vid.

Both of my nx's are waiting on parts so I packed up my lil 250 and flew her in the parking lot at the stores we stopped at. This lil gal don't quite handle 15mph winds like the Nx. Lol. Atleast I got some stick time tho.

As long as it has the big spinney blade on top and the little spinney blade in the back, all is good by me.

Three flights after I made the video in the earlier post, the drive end bearing of the Century 550 1300Kv motor blew out and damaged the motor magnets. I replaced it with an Z30 1110 Kv motor. This Kv suits the 5S setup with 10t pinion better. My ESC is running much cooler and I can now run a flat 100% TC. I got 4 great flights on the Swift today.

Finally had the weather cooperate yesterday (Saturday) so I took the Raven out for some trim/hover flights. I got in three solid flights with no problems except for when I had a visitor. i landed and talked for a bit but failed to crimp the fuel line.... Yup, flooded engine. After a couple of failed starts, the engine wanted to run backwards, I packed up after realizing it was almost an hour past MY fueling time And I noticed the drive pin at the bottom of the start shaft was coming out.

Today would be another nice day if a bit cool, but we have that four letter "R" word out there today RAIN.

All in all I was very satisfied with yesterdays outcome. Mostly just hover and a bit of slow forward flight to feel the old girl out. More green on the tail blades and no crash.

I'll rate it a 7.5 on the fun scale only diminished by the start shaft and flooded engine issues.

No doubt about your engine not wanting to started because of flooding. The fact that it turned backwards when it did is a sure sign that it was set way too rich.

As for the pin. You will find their is an allen set screw in that area that is there to secure the pin in place. All that cranking over of the engine would have eventually caused the start shaft to heat up. This will cause the locktite of the allen screw to liquefy enough to allow the allen screw to loosen and the centrifugal force of the spinning start shaft would then be able to move the pin off center.

After a long time not flying my helis I took my old Raptor 50 to the field. I had troubles starting the engine but it turned out that my fuel was old. I opened a new bottle and everything went ok. An other problem ocured with my field box battery. It remind me that old saying "if you don't use it you lose it". Anyway it was a really nice day and I had a great time flying. I hope to have the free time so I will never be forced to stop my hobby again.

Yes I found the set screw. I took it out, cleaned everything up and put a drop of locktite down the hole. When I put the screw in it pushed locktite out both sides (according to plan) around the pin. It should be there to stay now.......... OOPS, maybe I did too good a job

The rain stopped this morning about 11 am and I thought, YA WHOOOO I'll get to fly again, but the wind started blowing 4500MPH. I'm beginning to think I moved to Wyoming
