Default Throttle servo - minimum torque ?

Hi, what is the minimum torque required for a throttle servo ?

I have a fast servo with 10 kg/cm (approx 140 oz/in) which i would like to use. Is this enough ?

The throttle servo requires no torque. Speed is what you want from a throttle servo. You can use any cyclic servo - just make sure its a 1520 pulse unit.

I use the DS-520M on my Trex 600N (YS 60SR) and Trex 700N (YS 120SR-X).

Get the servo adapter plate from CHP
http://customheliparts.com/store/acc...adapter-plates
Lighter, faster and cheaper.

It still takes some Tq. But faster is needed over a cyclic. But if the Tq is too low, even though its fast "unloaded ratings", it will be slow with the load on it.

Hi, thanks for the response. How much is "too low" ?

140 will be plenty.

I wouldn't even worry about a torque level on a throttle servo. There isn't enough load there to be concerned about.

Default so what about a tail servo?

if what you guys say that speed is more important then torque then would a servo intended for tail control be optimal?

I always assumed that the reaction speed of a nitro engine was to slow to benefit from a faster servo (hence i use plain standard servo's on throttle)

so would replacing them with for example

Improve the performance of the governor (gv-1) i use?

I', running a tail servo off my 500 on my 700n. Works just fine. Even has a return spring on throttle arm

Speed is not critical either.

An IC engine does not respond like an electric.
It is "analog" and takes time to adjust to the carb opening and closing

Almost any decent servo will work fine
I've used old Align DS-610 servos
I've also use old Align DS-650 and DS-655 servos

Now, I just use old Align DS-520 (Trex 450 Pro tail servo - I think) tail rotor servos with mounting adapters

Just curious, why does it have to be 1520u? Because it may need to plug direct to Rx, depending on setup?

I'm going to be building my first nitro,trex700n fbl, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to get for a throttle servo.

Not all FBLs have he ability to accommodate the throttle to be set for 760u. If yours does, then there is no reason, not to.

I recently upgraded to HV (2S LiPo) and changed to Align DS535M (instead of DS-520M) for throttle because they are HV.

I use them on my Trex 600N (YS 60SR) and Goblin 700 BN (YS 96SR-X)

And, it looks like CHP is out of business
http://customheliparts.com/store/acc...adapter-plates
So, I don't know where to get the adapter plates any more.
