No....with this setup you can balance two 7s TP packs. It's a 2 x 7s into 1 adapter.

They might be configured that way... I really don't know. Like their 6 cell packs, they have 2 balance leads per pack.

Has anyone found any solutions for going the other way around? In my case I have two TP 1010/210 chargers that I can pull out of retirement for charging 7S packs but need to find a tap to convert from JST on the battery to TP taps to go into the 210 balancer,

Not opposed to building my own tap either but still need to locate the 7s connectors. If someone offers a pre-made one that's even better.

Hey Gerry, I know an easy solution. Send me your PL8, i'll send you my 1010s then we won't need to mess with adapters.

Hey Fil,

When we got our first XXtremes and got committed to 7S packs, we had the same dilemma... a bunch of 1010 chargers, and balance plugs on the batteries that wouldn't work with TP stuff. Hate to say it, but we never found a commercially available adapter that went from the JST commonly used on many batteries these days, into the 210 balancer.

I sold my 3010 and 208 ichargers and got two 1420 Hyperions. I'd originally bought the ichargers to use with my Xxtreme but was convinced that it is better to charge and balance the whole pack as one. Since these chargers can now be had for as little as US$130 each it was a no brainer compared to $500-600 flight packs. The benefit is you can charge AND balance the whole 14 cells on the one machine and you can get the TP balance adapter that fits the TP 7S split pack.

TP recommend 1C charging so, by my calculations, I can charge two flight packs, on two seperate chargers, both plugged into my Meanwell 600W 24V power supply running off my tiny Kipor IG770 inverter four stroke generator. I got the generator for AU$399, new. I have updated the firmware in the 1420s as there was a smoothing of the cycling of the charging ramp rate to allow the modern inverter generator eco throttles time to catch up.

Already got one!

All this time spent moving from gas to electric and I still end up with a gasser.

I only bought mine because we have so many 12S helis and large battery planes at our club that our 12v power rail for chargers keeps tripping out. This way I can run my chargers at their maximum output because of my 24V power supply and I don't have to worry about checking my chargers all the time to see if they've tripped off.

I did look at the Hondas and Yamahas but the Kipor is a clone with a reasonable reputation and for the price (770W was $399 and the 1000W $799) I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt.

What's the minimum C rating we should consider? I'm looking at combining some Gens Ace 4S and 3S batteries, but it looks like the highest ones suitable are 30C.

Gens Ace 30c are suppose to be underrated. More like a good 45c.

I got sucked in by their 14% off sale over Single Awareness Day.

When?

"Coming soon" doesn't really mean a whole lot.
