Please forgive me, Stupid question.....
I just gotta ask this..... Please will someone try to explain it to me? I just don't understand.....
What is the big deal with spektrum? I keep hearing that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Or to the other end, that they are cheap problem laden garbage..... Personally, I do not know. The only spektrum radio I have first hand experiance is the DX4E that came with my mcpx. Can anybody explain??? Thanks in advance, walter

All radios have supporters and detractors. If you want to fly Blade (Horizon Hobby) BNF models, Spektrum is the biggest game in town that supports it (largest user base, largest distributor base, etc....). All the brands are like Ford vs General Motors vs Chrysler vs etc... Think of it like this, cut through the hype, and decide for yourself.

for sure anyone can find equal amounts of disadvantages as well as advantages to any brand currently available or ones they have owned in the past...
looks and feel must surely be your only concern... in the end you want to look good and feel good using it... just like you would purchase a car I think as far as signal strength is concerned no one talks about failures due to loss of signal on any brands anymore from what I have noticed over the past three years so they all should be solid by now having had a few years to sort out their problems, this was generally the concern with some of them, not anymore

There are more people using Spektrum gear than any other brand out there.
Radio transmitters and Rx's is all down to personal choice and what you prefer, most folk will defend their gear with their lives even though they have not tried all the makes out there. You need to make your own mind up and do some research before buying any brand. Most brands out there are good to use, they differ by having more bling than the next guy. In 34 years, I have used all makes of radios and Spektrum is supported all over the world no matter where you go and all hobby shops will stock one or two of their receivers and Tx's. Not everybody will support Futaba, Hitec Taranis, Sanyo etc

I understand that not everybody supports every tx/rx brand..... I have run into that with the Hitec Optic 6 I picked up through the classifieds here. I was able to get it for a better price than I was seeing Spektrum equipment.
