Smile what to buy

I want a Mikado (stumping my foot)
Question, which one? I like the 550sx for its agility and one battery
I like the 600sx but the 690 seems better
the 700 Xxtreme is sexy as hell but expensive, I have align 700 v2 I believe abd was thing about using its electronics for the 700 Xxtreme. but would that do the heli justice.
700mx motor, 120 cc esc, ds610for servos

wouldn't mind a good used logo either

advice please

550 or 600sx are two of the best models in the hobby IMHO. I can't wait to get a 600sx once the new frames are released for it

Many options....and that's a good thing. Do some homework and see what one will be the best for you. There all great!

I've never really seen the 600 as a desirable size (regardless of model) for me. So that really just leaves 550sx and 690sx in plastic framed logos, at least as far as latest gen goes.

700 Xxtreme is sick and twisted awesomeness. But, not everyone can appreciate a model with curves. Can be intimidating to fly owing in part to its size (will feel much bigger in the air than the TRex) and repair costs. I have a blast with mine.

The 550sx is an ideal practice heli. Flies much like a 700, but runs happily on 6S so you get twice as many flights. However it's a bit small for fun flys or putting on a show.

690sx really seems like the perfect compromise. Big, fast, ultralight, and oh so smooth. I really like mine and the few people I've let fly it have become instant fans as well.

Hard to say what a plastic framed 700 might bring. Only time will tell. And time is the issue there. Mikado will almost certainly not announce a date until they're ready to start taking pre-orders, so there's no telling how long you might be waiting. Kids in the hall are intimating an announcement at ROTORS live (mid-March), but the actual release could still be a while off.

, well I think the 600 is out, both 550x (new version) and 690x seem like a viable choice. you can both smack them and perform a ballet in the air. but man that 700 makes you heart pound. lol im gonna end up buying all three.
a member has a used 550x, maybe that is the star and then maybe the 690x, then the 700 plastic.

thanks very much guys

Yah logo 500/550 and 600 fly very similar except that the 600 really moves FAST! Like speed fast. Especially when doing backwards inverted hurricanes. The 600 will do it a lot faster IMO.

So for me owning a logo 500 and a logo 600 didn't last long. I ended up turning the logo 600 into a 690SX and I feel I have two completely different heli's now if that makes sense.

I like the 600 class. For some reason it seems to fly considerably larger than the 550 class, much closer to a 700 class heli, however, the cost is much closer to the 550 class heli's.

I find it to be a perfect balance and having the choice of running 12s or just putting 1 pack in with a jumper and getting very long easy flying on 6s is a blast.

To each their own, but, I am patiently waiting to get a 600sx.

I've been asking myself the same question..

I really like the 690sx and 550sx but don't really care for 600 class. (I don't know why. I guess I feel like I will miss out)

But with the 690sx I feel like I miss out on the true 700 feel.

I probably will get the true plastic 700 or 690sx or American made Avant Mostro.

I dont think you could go wrong with the 550, 600 or 690. Mostly cost and personal preference.

I like the 500SE I have because of conveniance, just one 6S battery and still large enough for visability. A little less expensive to buy.

I have a 600SE and really like the way it flies.

One of the best 3D pilots at our club flies two Logo 600s.

I like the interchangable frames and some parts. The 600 has some great merits. Still very visable, electronics not too expensive and more choice, very agile. Before the 700 and 800 was one of the top Logo 3D Helis. Still a great Helicopter. Now with the SX has increased the durability of the drive train.

Just not quite understanding all the talk/hype of a plastic 700? I have the 600se and love
it. I would have the 690sx in a minute if the se was no longer around. Isn't the 690 already
a 'plastic 700', although lot of people refer to them as 700-lites??? How much more can they
improve on that?

With that said...................can't wait to see what they come up with though!

The 690sx is a plastic 700, yes. It's also an ultralight, more similar to an E700 than a 700 Xxtreme.

The Xxtreme is considerably larger and capable of swinging 750mm blades. They're very different feeling machines, a bit less smooth and more precise in the air and absorbs wind better than anything I've flown. Personally I'm OK with the weight of the 700 Xxtreme. It isn't the best option for floating autos, but its flight characteristics inspire confidence. That said, I think if it is possible to lighten it up without losing any of the confidence inspiring precision and bullet-proof gear train, I'd be interested in giving it a shot.
