Default JR Radios with XTR fix

This is worth reposting:
Guys try the fix suggested on the reflex site;
(by the way TX must be in PPM not PCM)

FIX: get the JR connector supplied, unscrew the plastic cover and solder a 5.6Kohm resister between the two tabs of the connector. ( a very small 1/4 or 1/8th watt is fine and should fit well in gap -with short leads--as your only talking signal)

(My Jr 2610 seemed to work most things but sw assignment was beatch . now it works great).

I suggest every JR Tx owner with reflex should probably have the mod done in the reflex connector lead

What problem is this meant to fix? I use a JR 8103 and a 9303 with Reflex with no known problems.

If your Transmitter works in every way fine your ok and no reply was even needed but
As I just said
My (and other JRs) Tx worked ok, but only on a spare channel BUT not on my Transmitter channel set to my real heli parameters.

Reflex couldnt find 2 channels, wouldnt calibrate the same each time etc and operated erroneously from one reflex aircraft (heli) to another (some people cant even get reflex to calibrate their JR Tx and it doesnt necessarily mean if your 8103 and 9303 work that the next guys will as well)
After I added the resistor it now recognises every channel on my Tx including the one with my real heli set up curves etc.

The resister mod was originally recomended if say the Tx didnt work at all but as you can see my and possible others tx's may only partly work.

To be more clear I
A. dont have to have one channel of my Tx dedicated for the sim so I can now avoid switch between channels (and sometimes forgetting to switch back when I go to the field).
B. most importantly I can now tweak the Reflex Raptor to fly eactly like my real one with my real life Transmitter setup curves so I get a true representation of my Heli behaviour and flight spec with my Transmitters setup.

For that reason I suggested to do the mod if you own a JR .
not a definite must or have to do though.

Hope that explains things better

Yes, you can use the spektrum with xtr. I have the guts of the spektrum in a JR6102 and use the empty spektrum tx for the sim. Keith

The DX6 Tx is a JR on the inside (other than the RF board and antenna) so the standard Reflex JR plug works with a DX6.

I will have to try this mod for mine since although I can fly XTR with my DX6, I cannot get it to work properly with my curves. Thanks for the info.

Also, if you are using the original XTR JR cable, be careful as it can pop your diode in DSC mode. I have read about this happening to at least 6 people. If it has happened to you, the symptoms will be that your transmitter will not turn on by just plugging in the cable, you will have to switch it on. Dont worry, just replace the diode and all is good as new.
The problem is in the solder joints and no strain relief in the DB9 connector. Take the time and open the connector and rig up some kind of strain relief. Also while you are there, check the solder joints as I have read, they can be poor.
Mine is after market and I have had to redo the connection where it plugs into the radio.

My DX6 only seems to work when turned off.

Jr will not transmit if turned off and the cable is pluged in. Only the pots, switches, and your memory are on.

Is that good for Reflex? When Reflex asks you to turn on I have to turn off and viceversa. It won't work in the on position.

Looks like same thing with my 6102.

I have the cheaper Jr and it works good. do not have to turn it on, only plug it in and it fine. Have you downloaded the Calibrate jr file? If not, pm me and I will send it to you.

Anyone know if the UK DSX9 or US 9303 will work with the Reflex?

I am having problems getting it to see the transmitter. All it says it `switch the tx on`

My other JR Tx with a Spektrum conversion is absolutely fine.

Will the 2.4g sets output a PPM signal from the DSC jack I wonder?

Ideas?

Looks Iike I `ve now sorted mine out - change the stereo jack plug over to a mono type and remove the resistor from the plug.
