Default Hyperion ESO Sentry 3

Is anyone using the Sentry 3 from Hyperion? I bought one so I could balance my batteries, and since it has a storage mode I can keep my batteries in good shape.

I just tried the storage mode. Per the manual, it is suppose to automatically turn off once it hits 3.8v per cell. Mine did not do that, it continues to discharge past 3.8v, and the capacity is showing 30%

Anyone have some insight they could share?

Thanks!

That's a battery checker, no? You balance charge (and store charge) with your charger.

Here's a link to the product: http://www.aircraft-world.com/en/p2024679-hp-eos08sent3

The Sentry 3 is a battery checker and balancer but this newer version also comes with a storage mode which should discharge the batteries down to storage levels. Once that level is hit, it is suppose to stop discharging. I'm noticing that it doesn't shut off and it keeps going. All cells read, on one particular battery, about 3.7V after I took it out of storage mode.

I have a Prophet Sport Plus charger, which doesn't have discharge & storage modes. I was hoping the Sentry 3 would be a cheap alternative to balancing my batteries and setting to storage level easily.

Ideally I'd buy a nicer charger w/ power supply but that can't happen right now.

I don't know.. I know that Sentry must be very slow.. I just charge up (fast charge.. 15 min 3c charges or 30A for my stick packs) at the field and fly by my timer (6 minutes) so after my flying my packs just end up around 3.75-3.85v/cell.. so no storage charge needed. That takes the least amount of effort.

I just use an iCharger duo with deep cycles. No PSU needed.
