I upgraded to 2.18 by mistake and my motor burnt after only 60 seconds.
Can you get a refund or something?? |

No, castle won't even acknowledge the problem, beacause if they did, they'd be financially responsible for alot of damaged motors and airframes.

The latest 'stable' release is 1.56 which dates back to 2007! There is no final non beta firmware yet for the ice controllers even though they put them up for sale. I hope they come to a stable 2.xx release in the near future.

I have no issues with 2.16 but unless you use the 1.56 firmware don't count on Castles warranty

My ICE 100 actually came with 2.16 in it, IIRC.

Not my bird, I read it from somewhere else, a bad result using 2.18 firmware.

Because there is no non beta firmware for the ICE controllers! So in a way Castle takes no resposibility for issues with ICE controllers whatsoever. Beta software is to be used at your own risk. So imo the ICE should not have been released yet.

YES!!! That is taking the Microsoft Scenario just a LITTLE too far.

2.161 works fine. I dont use the new relaeses for a couple of weeks after they come out becaause they always have a bug or 2 in them.
I waited about 2 weeks before using 2.16 so 2.161 was already the fix.. Turn off the feature where the link looks for new software everytime you boot it up so you wont be tempted to try new release Beta stuff till it is OK You would think that when you load up Castle Link, if a window pops up saying there is a new ver. do you want to load it it would be all right..but..since it is all beta stuff let some other willing participant check it out for a couple of weeks Using Set RPM mode my gov holds within a few RPM of what I choose and Ive never had an issue with any of my Castles due to software probs. Castle has great softstart IMO and they are a great value. I like Kontronic too and have 2 helis running them but they sure are expensive.

Quick update.
There are now 2 official HUGE positive's of the new firmware (v3.0). But, they are on planks and it's still early in the game....

Keep us updated!!! As soon as you fly, fill us in! I want to try it, but no one has tried it with a Hacker yet, and the Hacker's seem to have been the largest issue.
