Default Bay Area Logo Fliers Chat Thread

Ok, let's give this a try. Hopefully Logo pilots from the Bay Area will converge here for any purpose related to the Logo and other models and flying in general.

I'll start by sharing info on "our" field. Located in Brisbane, California. From 101 Exit Sierra Point parkway and drive all the way down to the Marina parking lot. Combination of plank and heli pilots. Guaranteed zero animosity between the two groups. Good area to walk your dogs too. We try not to fly nitros before 10 a.m. so as not to disturb whoever decided to sleep in their boats.

I was there yesterday around 2 with a couple of nitro dudes..... perfect conditions, no wind.

That place is windy in the summer, but during the fall its amazing!

EDIT: Just found out there is going to be a bike race Saturday morning.

Won't happen this weekend due to work, but at some point i'm going to have to come down to Sierra Point and fly. Most of my flying is at Mare Island.

I've been wanting to get down your way to fly for sure. Work has been relentless on my schedule since the HF FF (2 days off since then). As soon as I see a chance though i'm down for some flying in your area. Plus I still have to return your tie downs.

Hey all I currently fly in a nice little spot in the presido but there can be some joggers to deal with form time to time. I will have to make it down that way do any of you fly during the week? Especially since we should have perfect conditions this week.

I thought Sierra Pt got shut down by construction. Did you find a new patch of land? Is it the same crowd as before, or did some permanently relocate to that school in Daly City?

How about a map link? Google Maps generates short links now, I think

Like so: http://goo.gl/maps/NWKv . In "Aerial" mode, you can see the fence around the old site to the south. I presume you fly over the more north patch of open land adjacent to the parking lot?

From those I've spoken with.. pretty much a lot of the same crowd with newbies like me joining in.

The patch of land is http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...3,0.00324&z=19

I think because of year's past where they have been kicked off (not just for construction), they are being sensitive to the neighbors. So no Nitro's in the morning, and everyone's been pretty good about having spotters since during the weekday lunch hour and afternoon, there are a lot of walkers/cyclists/cars etc. And the parking lot is still the most common place to land.

There are a few planks that show up.. everyone's pretty friendly.
