Default Kosmik 200 Burn down...Diabolo

Crashed my Diabolo this weekend, loss power in flight doing a stall turn, saw some smoke and just watched helplessly as the heli fell to the ground from about 100 ft up under no power.

See pictures of the carnage below. The ESC is a total loss, the Pyro 750-56 motor appeared to be fine, but now only rotates in one direction. $638 in damage to the helicopter including $120 blades and $250 special Diabolo canopy..not a good weekend.

I was able to recover the micro sd card and view the log for the flight, nothing out of the ordinary as far as I can see.

Antonio…

Totally sorry for the loss... F'en sucks big time!

Can you post the logs for us to take a look at? I would PM the K-US rep to and ask him for some assistance getting the equipment analyzed and replaced ASAP!

Sorry to see that damage. Here a heli pilot hurts the heart.

Strange.., strange, the point where it burned in the KOSMIK.. Looks like the (+) came into contact with ground. How is the LiPo?

please pm Charles (Kontronik USA) or I the Log file so we can take a look at it. Also either Charles or I will let you know if we need you to mail it to Kontronik USA the address used for service and if Charles doesn't respond on here i will notify him. He will probably want both the speed controller and motor.

Yeah it makes me sick to my stomach, but the Kosmik 160s that I have on my 7HV and Logo 800 have been flawless.

The lipo appears fine, the positive lead on the esc and the positive on one side of the battery connector actually came unsoldered from the heat it appears...very strange

In the attached picture the BEC lead appears to have some marks that appear to be from the pinion on them. if this is the case this could have been the source of the issue.

The pinion never contacted bec lead, the braiding is melted from the heat, the bec wires under the braiding is 100% intact; the bec wires were routed and secured far away from the pinion so there was no chance the pinion could contact it. I saw smoke in the air and then moments later lost all control of the helicopter, it was dead in the air.

I am unable to attach the log file because it's telling me invalid format?

I am also going to reiterate here that the factory recommends the use of the fuse provided with the Kosmik. It would have prevented all damage to surrounding components. It is also recommended that a small buffer pack be used in the case of a failure to guarantee that radio control is still maintained.

Is there any feedback from the other burnout a couple of months back - the G770 that burned a Kosmik?

Nothing to be seen.. except of the FET temperature: 200°F is already rather high - but still OK.

(In the absence of other information: RPM is 2-pole-normalized here, as the KOSMIK records it. So pole count and ratio ignored.)
