Logo 500 belt and boom I found this thread and it describes exactly what I am experiencing. It has me thinking this might be normal https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=679978 . I'm also building a diabolo right now and it also has some knotchyness in the belt. Finally I tested the belt in the 600sx I've been flying for a year and it too has a very slight knotchyness vibration. I wonder if this is something that goes away as the belt breaks in.

This might be it too:
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=557158 I guess I've gotta check my bearings and make sure to "square -up" the tail case.

Yeah I'm just gonna buy a speedix tail and be done with it.

Has anyone else ran the stock gearing successfully ?
I read one post where it stripped the main gear, Possibly loose mesh? |

Does anyone know the length of the stock 480 boom versus the 500 boom? (600 mm)
I don't recall seeing this in these 8 pages so far. |

After looking at how close the stock boom was with 500's I opted for the longer 500 boom. Belt is wider and I like that for sure.
I had some 500 size grips I put on as well so no need for the spacer. Grabbed some zeal 80 tail blades that look just like the edge ones, switchblade 500's. Waiting for the epoxy to set and test fly in the am. Tail blades ran perfectly smooth test run on the bench. The 500 blades are roughly 1" longer, but the boom is 2" longer. It would be nice to find one only 1 inch longer than stock, but will see how it goes. |

My only complaint at the moment is it has a little bit of collective lag, due to my BLS153 servos lacking in speed and possibly torque. I have some MKS HV9767's on order.

How Much shorter is this belt from the 500 belt?
Same belt as the trex 600 I see, I had a couple of those 6 years ago and got rid of them. |

608 Xl mikado
592 does that mean 16 teeth? So roughly 3/4" or 17-18mm shorter boom? |

No it's the actual length in inches x 10. So a 608XL is 60.8in and a 592XL is 59.2in. The belts come in different widths so if you buy a 592XL make sure the width is going to be OK. I don't know how to tell from the markings but my 592XL looks just slightly wider than my (Mikado Logo 500) 608XL. I didn't know when I ordered so I got lucky.

Ok that makes sense, then it sounds like about 16-18mm shorter boom?
Just the perfect size for 500 blades IMO. Regardless mine is together with the 600 mm boom Test flight today. |

Wow my 500 extreme fly's so nice now compared to the 480.
Very happy with it at 2100 rpm. Wish I did this years ago. Very economical as it sips the electrons. Autos are fantastic now, climb outs are amazing. So much win. |

Blown away-
It flies great, sorted out almost all of the tail, just slight small wag occasionally, but punch outs, tic tocs, funnels etc are solid now. @ 2100 I get 6 minutes and put back average 2000mah in the pack. I feel more comfortable with the wider tail belt as well. Nothing but win imo. |

Couldn't stand it- gonna try the 525's next since the boom will tolerate it.

Can't imagine how it must feel with 500+ blades. Flew my stock 480 for the first time yesterday and was blown away how light and nimble it felt.
I'm flying 3300mah packs for 4:30 at 2300RPM. Put 1600mah back into them, right around 50%. If I did the stretch and dialed it back to 2100RPM think I would still be good for 4:30 on the 3300mah packs?

6 minutes plus with 500 blades for the Win.!
The 523's say they are 50mm where the 500's are 52mm. Sounds like its worth a try to me. I also fitted the 500/600 skids, cut 3" off the pipes. |

I've been practicing autos and over speeds with these 505mm mains and nothing has come flying off yet. Just for a laugh I bumped up my head speed to 2700 rpm yesterday. OMG it was quick

stock main gear for me without issue.
Vbar gov, YGE sc. I suspect possibly loose mesh may have been the culprit of the gear strips, or a linear throttle curve. Ordered the 523 blades on the spring sale 10% off. hope they arrive before the weekend funfly... should be interesting. hoping they wont be too much for the motor. Figure I'll drop it to 2000 rpm and hope for the best. 523 blades say 2mm skinnier chord, hope that will equate to less drag on the motor or not a drastic increase in power to spin them. Both blades have almost the exact same area. This WILL be interesting |
