Good to hear!

That means I'll soon be able to listen to you guys talk about it on the show, which means more good listening material while I mow my lawn.

Hope you like it!

Received my Scorpion 2208-24 V2 today. I am VERY happy to report that it fit without any modifications what so ever. It is a tight fit though. With the Scorpion 11T pinion, clearance to the elevator link is slightly less than stock. I will keep an eye on that link. There are virtually no vibrations with the Scorpion motor installed as shown in this video.

As you may remember... here is the video of the stock motor to compare it with.

And now on to the important part.... Does the tail still kick randomly as it did with the stock motor?

Not even a quiver. It looks like I can increase the tail gain too. Need to get it out in the open to find out.

Working on that now. Do you happen to have stock motor head speeds at different throttle percentages?

Straight 75% throttle curve is 2900 RPMs
Straight 85% throttle curve is 3140 RPMs
Anything higher than 85% is essentially the same.

Put two packs through it. Very smooth. Tons of power. No tail issues. Slight bobble on cyclic on hard pitch changes. Other than that, flies much better than before. Flip and roll rate is almost too quick now. Might back it down just a little. I wish this heli would have come from the factory like this. (ie balanced motor and quality blades)

happy to hear that and good news to everyone!

whats your conclusion on this? everyone who has misaligned magnets should call HH for replacement? and most vibes issues are gone? maybe even the broken main shafts + servo link grinding? have u any slop up/down on your new motor?

thx.

My conclusion is that my motor was built so poorly that it caused vibrations that effected the BX.

I would suggest that calling / emailing HH would be appropriate if you have heavy vibrations from your motor that cause issues with the BX.

Broken main shaft issues... can't really comment on that. I do think that a 2mm hole in a 4mm shaft is asking for troubles.

Links rubbing seems to be a combination of servo position, motor vibration, head vibration and possibly frame flex. I have checked mine and do not have rubbing issues. I am not a smack down 3D pilot though.

I have not received my new motor from HH so I can't comment on up and down movement.

Just got done charging the two batteries I got to fly today with the Scorpion motor. 683mA and 712mA went back in the two. The flights were both somewhat easy 5 min test flights with lots of flips and rolls, full collective upright and inverted punchouts, full collective rainbows and just some regular circuits. Looks like the Scorpion motor is pretty efficient too!!

3100rpm at full throttle/0 pitch is a bit less than stock, my data logs show 3100 average, 3400 max with a V-curve and stock motor/pinion. Never checked full throttle at 0 pitch.

Of course youll have longer flights with less power than stock

RPMs were checked with an optical tach while hovering and not zero pitch. While the head speed may be lower than stock, it felt like it had more power. I would guess the Scorpion motor bogged less at full collective / cyclic.

Nice work, i read there is 2 years warranty on the scorpion motor.
But they say you have to oil the bearings each 5-6 flights.
How do you oil the bearings of a BL motor?

Sounds stupid but i didn't know it needs that much oil.
