I don't have a vids that are super clear... But I did find one someone took of me flying under the light towers at the HF Funfly last weekend... ;-) I'll try to get more vids up from the daytime and show it off!

New video added above. Boring, but shows some nice inverted 'fountain' smoke. I have 25 flights on this bird and its amazing.

Nice video dude! Lookin good! I love what gaui did with the gear ratio on this bird to help eliminate bogging, bobby watts talks about it in the smack talk vid...

What headspeed are you running at? My ears and flying style think I would bring it up just a little higher... But it sounds great as is!

Thanks again HAPG. You may be right, I could probably bring it up a little. Im running 2500 idle up 1 (inverted hover), and 2700 idle up 2.
Im sort of new to govs. Im running a slight V throttle curve in stunt 2 due to over-speeding during descents.

Yeah you can feel the gear ratio. Ive owned many nitros, but none like this one.

Ive run both the Gaui and the Hatori pipes. The Hatori is awesome. Very quiet with a nice smoke trail. I start up under the pavilion at our field on a table. Every time I get a comment about how quiet it is.

Finally got my nx4 in the air without issues! Gov is set at 2500 idle1 and 2700 at idle2. Was wondering if I should go higher. Also checked motor temp and it was 130 deg after 5 min of medium sport flying with a little 3d. I really love this thing. Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.

I think 2700 is the sweet spot with the stock gearing. What blades are you running? If you don't like the collective stopping power just get longer blades.

Yeah that's what I hear also. I was running msh 470 blades off my stretch protos for a while and they worked great on the nx4 (btw they measure 460mm bolt hole to tip). I'm currently running spin blade 465 3d's. I really like the nx4 but I think it benefits from 465 blades. It still flys well with 425's but it lacks collective authority I feel. I'm only running 11.5 degrees of pitch with the longer blades also and it stops great. I would try more pitch if I had 425 blades before increasing the headspeed. I've flown the spin 435's also and I liked them but I understand why you would be hesitant to fly them.

I'm at 12 now, should I try 12.5 or 13?

In the video above, Im at 13 with 425 Aligns. It only bogs in extreme bail out situations caused by me. Otherwise I dont worry about CM or bogging at all. Im flat TC on idle 1, 100,95,90,95,100 idle 2.

I'd try 12.5 first. My test is to do a fast dive or tail slide then level and hit collective fast. With the shorter blades I would blow past the stop. Now mine stops like an electric.

that curve is a good high HS. i tached mine yesterday at hover at 80% throttle, and she was spinning 2870HS there. feels great, but i want my gov to keep HS from deviating much in rolls and flips....

Is that with a gov? Im using a JR tx with throttle travels adjusted for Ikon. Futaba tx %'s may be different than mine. Id be curious what mine are. What tach are you using? I need to get one.

So how important is cg with the nx4? Mine is very tail heavy. Should I add weight, or let the fbl compensate?

Flew the nx4 yesterday and flew great! 12.5 deg of pitch helped a lot.
