Default ESC Mounting

Should I mount my HW 120hv solid with screws and nuts in the 4 provided mounting holes, or just use the velcro wrapper straps? I'd rather not cover the heat sink with straps, but....... I'm, going to mount it up front on the tray.
TIA!!!!
Jerry

Yep, that's all I used. No tape, no straps, just zip ties. The spacing on the slits down the side of the platform are almost perfect for the HW 120HV, and certainly close enough to get zip ties through the holes and slits. I also added a fifth tie through one of the front holes and around the front of the tray to keep the ESC from slipping backward on the tray. Let me tell ya: it ain't goin' nowhere.

There is another benefit to zip ties.
I had an "unfortunate incident" on my maiden liftoff.
The ESC was ripped out and went 20 feet down the garden, but was undamaged.
Had it been bolted in, I would have had to buy another.

i just had my yge strapped and nothing more when i had my 7hv.. i think eventually i use some gell tape to stick it on there. just for the heck of it..

basically you want to make sure its not gong to fall off the helicopters so velcro or zip ties or straps, how ever you feel comfortable attaching it

I've only ever used 3M 4011 double sided tape. But, my phase wire leads are folded and bound to the tray with a Velcro strap to keep them secure and tidy, so I suspect it would help hold it in case of a mishap.

Default ESC Mounting

I added Velcro under the Esc and a Velcro strap over it.

I ran a wide piece of Velcro between the bottom plate and the electronics with Velcro between the esc and the heli.
You can see it in this pic,

i laid 3m grey red back down in two layers on the esc tray and strapped YGE160HV with heatsink down with two straps.........just to avoid a possible interaction between the heatsink and the carbon.

Question to the YGE guys..

How hot did your YGE get? I mounted it on standoffs/spacers to keep it off the tray, similar to Heathy. I was worried about heat dissipation, especially if it is mounted via tape or whatever to the tray.

My YGE gets pretty warm, not hot enough to not hold your finger for 5 sec, but it is hot enough to say "Yeah its warm" Even the Caps on the top (If you mounted heatsink down) get fairly warm as well. I will probably put some vent holes to help the cooling.
