Default Secret Weapon Prototype TRM Motor #2 a G260PUH

I am sure most of you guys into Gassers have seen the results of Motor #1 (231) which HC flew in John's Spectra G 3D Gas at IRCHA. If you have not please check the HF Video Forum for the IRCHA Video of the Spectra G 3D Demo.( https://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=2569 ) John Garst and the Builder have a lot of time and effort in the 231 and it shows. The Spectra G itself would probably fly about like that clip from IRCHA even with a stock motor because it is that bad ass. Serious Helicopter.

Motor #2 is a G260PUH that has been worked by TRM to improve the overall user friendliness, performance and also reduce the bad vibs that the 26 is commonly known to exhibit. The motor has a lot of work in it just like Johns 231.

Stay tuned for more info.... We have high hopes for this new prototype and we will definitely let you guys know how it goes good or bad. Toxic Al is da man!!

Bill: We will take performance how ever we can get it. With all the competent airframes out there these days, motor technology needs to catch up. Your machine was KICKING it last time I saw it fly. What you been up to lately??

Falcon: We will share what has been done to the motor, I will find out what I don't remember. Carb is WT645.

Compression boosted
Intake ported
Exhaust ported
Transfer ports modified
Piston modified, lightened

Gasser enthusiasts need to stick together and help raise the bar in gasser performance. We got the airframes from a BUNCH of manufacturers, so powerplants and good and effective tuned pipes are the squaky wheel now. Lets do it!!

i agree, WE NEED GOOD PIPES, and not $200 ones! Ones that will flow a 26 at around 12,000rpm. Don't ask me way. I still don't have a good one for my 230rc, g23mod

I understand lightening the piston in the G26 helps the bad vibes a lot.

I was wondering if I would get a rise out you secret agent folks, hehe.
William, I made a statement not to long ago on RR that when the bullpen opens, these motor gurus are going to make a killing... No doult the industry has the machines now to take them.. It is going to be fun watching these machine get into the act...
I'm still running basically stock right now, because I'm still doing testing...Have about one month to go on the industrial gasser, and I will be finished...Then I'll get to play..I guess it will be Bham when I show my engine...I'm helping a friend setup to start modifying these engines in Dec...
Hey, don't raise that compression to high, you want be able to use the camper fuel
I doult you'll find a good engine man to share much....John needs to kiss and tuck his man in bed every nite, because he sure got a good one
Hope to see all you soon
Regards,
Bill

I don't know about a killing, but there is definitely performance to be gained and money to exchange hands over it, and I am excited as hell about it!!

Thanks Bill, your right he does. I had the idea to mate a modern technique builder with a top gasser Guru in my head for over 2 years, but it took me a year to talk John (at the Chatt Event) into getting with the builder. Once I got them together, they clicked pretty good. They are both experts in their own right so it was a great match and everything has flowed slowly but nicely so far. Congrats on getting a shop together yourself, its a lot of work!!

Excellent! Our silent (for now) partner and master of the motor, is here! X Factor is in the know on these motors and has a good feel for what attributes are needed for these motors to successfully work in the gas model helicopters! He is a fellow heli modeler as well. You cannot just make a motor with 'a bunch more power" and expect it to perform satisfactorily in a model helicopter. X Factor realizes that and LISTENS to what he gets for feedback on how the motor is performing. Everything you do to these motors has a trade off as well in most cases. These motors have to put out a specific power in a specific operating range and do it SMOOTHLY without adding a bunch of heat (horsepower creates heat).

That's what it's about when designing a new powerplant that you hope to be successful with!! So far, so good!!

Later!!

Well I'm working on a Predator powered by "tip jets" on the rotors.
Looks to be a 6 Lb 90 size with the thrust of 6hp!!!
It runs on straight kerosine and has a brushless motor on the "Starting Pad" that spins up the rotor head fast enough to light off the tip jets. A flip of the switch on channel 8 releases it from the starting pad and away you go.
A bonus is you don't need night blades!
Yeah, Yeah I know the AMA won't let me fly it at a sanctioned field so you'll have to come to Fidmans Field of Heli Death to see it fly.

Picked up an X-Cell Gas Graphite, converted to a Gas SE today. (Thank Matt!!)

With any luck the heli will be flying by Macs and Mulberry. Can't wait to see how it performs. My HUGE Hatori will be here from Ricks tomorrow. (220.00 OUCH!!) I am really looking forward to a real tuned Pipe X Factor!!!

The new pipe I am working on weighs only acouple of ounces and will cost about $160 for the whole set up and should boost motor output across the power range about 25-30% and will be quiet as well. Later, X factor
