Job well done and job done well

Congratulaions chaps. Not that I ever doubted your enginering and electrical skills, you just needed the luck for the weather and you got it. You've come along way since the humble begginings as belt-cp owners

Here's a little song I'd like to dedicate to you both. Takes me back to my childhood days, I actually remember this show when it originally went out!

Am I dreaming here or are those ***** ***** cyclic servos? I guess you dont need much torque.

*Thought I'd excercise some discretion here.*

Again congratulations.

Lol, after the last post I was just looking, and decided they were SG90s. Quite surprised that you thought them reliable enough, considering what was at stake, but clearly they have proved themselves admirably. Not sure that I ever clocked up 1 and 3/4 hrs total on any of my SG90s, let alone none stop. Probably did, that's only 20 flights I suppose, but I'd be surprised if I had much more time on them. Impressive performance for such a low cost servo.

If you contact TP and tell them about your record, you might be good for free SG90s for life, lol.

Cheers

Sutty

Lol. In fact Andrew, you should know that I tried torturing a SG90 to death during the testings, by hanging 0.7 kilograms of weight onto it at the end of a normal 12 mm servo arm, and connecting it to a servo tester that made the servo move up and down all the time. Imagine the servo went up to 56 degrees Celsius, but refused to die ! It still works perfectly. I could write a book about all the tests I've done for this record...sigh.

Edit: and that test went on for 90 minutes, BTW.

I should have known they were not 'thought' to be reliable enough, but stringently tested instead. I guess world records don't happen by accident.

Cheers

Hope you don't mind posting the link already, while we're waiting for that episode 237 to come online, I'm guessing today:

Good idea in fact Andrew...so that is exactly what I did. As well as Kontronik, Ikarus, Spektrum and other manufacturers involved. I sent an email to all of them, to let them know of the record, and their products that are involved. Let's see what happens, you never know.

Excellent, I'm sure they will be interested that their products were used for a successful record attempt, and if that results in one or two free gifts, then all the better.

To be honest, our dear HF forum owner Will James was the first to send me a PM and offer us both some free HF swag of choice, as soon as the HF shop will be online, as a reward for the record. I guess there's no harm in posting this. Thx again, Will, if you would ever read this.
