FPV FCC regulations

So I am looking at getting into FPV thinking about using 5.8 Ghz band can someone point me in the directions of the regulations on FPV with and without amateur radio license.

I'll have to look it up, but 5.8ghz at FPV power levels does require an Amateur cert last I looked (about a year).

You can run it anyways, but it technically would be in violation and honestly there's some good stuff in the classes, that and you get a call sign for broadcasting

Looks like most of 5.8 is amateur but you really should get a license anyways. It cost less than 20.00 bucks and you get a lot of good information out of it.

For the majority of video transmitters used in FPV ranging from 900mHz, 1280mHz, 2.4G and 5.8G a technicians license is needed for legal transmission.

I am studying for the licence now but if 2.4 ghz is amature why wouldnt you need a licence to use an rc tx?

The power level on 2.4 RC transmitters is REALLY low; 100mW iirc. That's why they only have a range of a few hundred yards.

The 900MHz, 2.4GHz and 5.8Ghz bands include provisions for extremely low power license free use however 1280MHz does not have any such provisions.
