Main gear slight warp
I noticed a very slight warp between the main and autorotation gears when I rotate the head slowly on my Mini Titan. You have to look at the heli closely from the side to see it.
It is only a very slight warp (maybe 0.3 mm), but since Im trying to get the heli perfect for onboard Aerial Video I am looking at every detail. Could this cause vibes or oscillation? Any suggestions please Cheers Chaps.....

A warped main gear will cause vibration - but not as much as you'd expect. Take off the main blades and tail blades, spin it up and feel for vibration. If there is vibration going on, take off more and more parts until the faulty part is found
Edit: I had a heli with a perfectly balanced head and blades but I was struggling to find what was causing me vibration issues. Turns out the holes for the blade bolts were machined unevenly so maybe try different main rotors if you are still struggling? |

It seems like even if the gear is completely flat sitting on the table, when you screw in the hardware and mount the auto rotation gear it will be slightly out of true. I've had the best luck adjusting the tension of the screws that hold in the one way bearing and almost truing it like you would a bicycle wheel.
If you remove all the hardware and it's still not flat, you could try boiling it and placing a heavy weight on it, or ordering another main gear. |
