Default Align RCE-BL35G ESC startup problems

I have an the ...35G ESC installed in my MX400 and went through the setup with the Tx as per the instructions.

When I raise the throttle slowly, the motor jerks only a couple teeth on the main gear, making the blades turn a bit each time I try to start up. Finally, after about 3 or 4 trys, the soft start engages and the hs climbs up. Once it starts, it's working and flying great.

Any ideas on the sporadic inputs to the motor and then after a while it starts up?
Could it be the Low Throttle Response setting on 35G?

Thanks.

(using MX400, 35G esc, 3s/11.1/2100's, stock Helimax 2580kv motor, epa's 100% around, Futaba T6EX 2.4 Tx-Rx set, with esc settings: Brake Disabled, mid-timing, low batt-protection, Heli-1 mode, throttle response Low)

I had that happen. Check the connectors and make sure they are not loose. It might be timing or a break in the coils.

It get hot quick. when i could pick it off the ground time i pick it up to hover it comes back down. now it start bucking again. Anybody knows what could be the problem? The connectors are fine. Dear Matt I had also that problems take care if it gets too hot the bec in the ESC wont work anymore. Then you have failsafe on your helicopter which is not really nice. My dealer exchanged the ESC for free. But anyway I installed a sperate BEC which is the little money really worth. One safed crash is enough.
