i dont think ill go no bar on the SR, not planning on doing any thing but flyinig it the way it is. but FBL is king on smaller helicopters, on my 550 i did not feel the need to go FBL but on a 450 or 500 its really makes a difference, i am sure it would have on the 550 too but it was so smooth and stable in the air already.

Hi, Danny, strange to see you back! a good surprise

Estarter originally just took the Flybar off, but then went to FBL electronics later - post 18 onwards

I was really amazed just how well it flew without any stabilization - kudos to the pilot

Just pick up a good mcpx board, I have another spare frame, I will try to stick with the stock 2in1 using the steve board for the tail motor control, let's get to work. . .

Popcorn time - that's a nice twist on your already interesting FBL SR

I'm sure you will have already seen this thread, well worth a look if you haven't

With some inspired thinking, this guy used an mcp 3 in1 to control just the cyclic servos and a separate RX for throttle and rudder with gyro as usual. Both RX's are bound to the TX

Thanks for the link, a lot of info, I plan to use the tail gyro in the mcpx board to control the stock DD tail motor.

That's cool, I guess the fixed tail gyro gain could be a potential problem...but there's only 1 way to find out. If you do have problems, you could look into changing the tail blades for those with different diameter/pitch, effectively changing the overall gain

Will you need two "thesteves"? ...Main and tail?

Should be good

That could work, though you'd have to be careful not to burn the board. It's a lot of wiring. I think you'd have to use the integrated RX on the board, run the signal wire from the board to each servo and the positive and negative from the 2-in-1.

Good luck

Why do you need one for the tail? It is a brushed motor so why would you need a signal converter?

I have hard time to solder the servo wires in the pc board, I don't want to ruin a good 3in1 board, need to order the micro servo connectors.

I mount the 3in1 board at the back of the frame.

OK, looks like power for the mcpx board from the SR esc, and the bottom wires get the micro servo connector?

Ahh, hit a bump in the project, the E-flite digital servo does not work in the 3in1 board!

Maybe it is picky about voltage?

The Corona digital servos work with the mcpx 3in1, need to get the CCPM direction right.

Anyone has used the AOE convertor in mcpx 3in1? Looks like this convertor can drive both the main and tail esc from the 3in1.
