Exclamation Castle Edge160hv recall/service advisory

Guys,

Just a heads up for any of you using the Castle Creations 160HV ESC. There is a possibility your ESC could die mid -flight https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...88#post5610788

It was from June last year but this is the first I've heard of it.

http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...edgehv160.html

When I checked mine, it was on the service advisory list

The rubber grommet looked as though it was ok and correctly mounted in mine, thankfully. even though the batch was on the advisory.

Yes, you are quite correct. However, in my defence I did not have an edge160hv at the time. I still had my 700 with a 120hv. I built my 800pro in Sept13'and obviously forgot about it.

You perhaps would have thought, 3months after the advisory and in a brand new kit from the Align factory, that they would have had time to either A)fix the issue before rolling out the 800kits or B)Put an advisory reminder in the box.

I guess from now on, whenever buying a "new" kit or "new" electronics one must trawl through every manufactures website to ensure my "new" equipment is safe.

Anyway, let's hope now its back on topic, people that may have missed the advisory 7months ago can now check their ESCs.

Just a quick thank you for bringing this to my attention. My kit, bought Dec 2013 also contained one of the units listed in CC's service bulletin.
