Default How many batteries will you have for your Logo Xxtreme?

Just curious since we're probably looking at about $400 - $500 for the two 7S lipos combined.

One set of high end Thunder Power packs are all I can afford, maybe another set or two if I can find some lower end packs that are reasonably priced.

2x Turnigys 4s+3s 40c combined(solder them yourself to 7S) will cost around 250USD...

I think that would be my route when i ever can afford an xxtreme... ive seen them use that setup.

Thanks. I figured pilots would need to have at least two flight packs (four 7S batteries).

One set. It would be my demo Heli... I think I'd still fly the 600 primarily. Maybe naive, but that's the plan.

Two flight packs ( 4 x 7S packs) of either TP or Hyperion 5000's is what I plan.

1 or 2 sets of Thunder Power G6 65C 5000 mAh for now (I have some store credit with TP), then see what other options are available.

Now my main problem is how the heck I'm going to charge those packs.

I have a PowerLab8, and will be getting their MPA parallel charging board this week. The problem is that the balance taps only accept JST-XH, so I guess I need to either find a TP to JST-XH adapter, or re-wire the pack to JST-XH.

Anyone have the same issue? Or do you know where to find a TP to JST-XH adapter??? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Gerry, will this help?

VT-B-TP - Voltz Thunder Power Balancing Adapter Board

Voltz chargers come with built-in JST-XH balancing ports. If you have batteries that have Thunder Power or Flight Power style balancing taps, use this board to adapt them to your Voltz charger. Includes 7 to 11 or 11 to 11 pin cable, the 7-11 pin cable is suitable for the Voltz 6250 charger while the 11-11 pin cable is suitable for the Voltz 101K charger.

I didn't do much checking to see if it's exactly what you need, but...

Hi Dave, Thanks for the suggestion! I dug around on the RH site, and while think the board will work fine, my challenge will be to find a cable that connects the adapter board directly to a 7S JST-XH male plug.

The current cable options are
  • 7 to 11 Pin Cable (Suitable for 6250 Charger) - This won't work because the 7 Pin end is a 6S JST-XH plug
  • 11 to 11 Pin Cable (Suitable for 101k Charger) - This won't work because I won't be able to plug the 11 Pin end to the 7S JST-XH input of the FMA Direct MPA board.
- BUT you actually got me thinking about another idea...

If I can find a 7S TP to 7S Hyperion adapter, I can just cut the locking tab off the Hyperion end, and then plug that straight into the 7S JST-XH input.

I'm still looking around, and I'll update this thread/board if I find a solution. I can't be the only one with this problem (with a FMA Direct PL8)!

Thanks again!

This is what I'm using with the PL8. Everything is available from Progressive RC. Essentially it's an icharger 3010b TP balance board with PL8 adapter cable and a two into one TP 7s balance adapter. It's all silicone wire.

Great to know that I won't be stuck buying a new charger!

With that setup, do you plug a single pack into the PL8 -- so you have to charge 1 pack at a time? Not that it's a huge deal, if you charge at 30 or 40 amps...

In an ideal world, I'm looking to find a way to adapt the 7S TP balance plug to a 7S JST-XH plug, so I can plug multiple packs into the MPA board.

Here's what I found today... Hoping it'll work:

Hyperion Multi-Adapter TP for EOS 720i Chargers:

Plug the 7S TP pack into this board...

Since the pin spacing and wiring is the same for Hyperion and JST-XH (I need to verify this with FMA), then use a Hyperion Multi Adapter Extension for 2-7S 720i

to connect the board to the JST-XH plug on the FMA Direct MPA Board.

I figure I'd have to cut the locking tab off the plug that goes into the MPA board, and be sure that it goes in the right way (I'd color code it once I figure out which way is up)... But then I'd be able to parallel charge up to six 7S packs at up to 40A current.

I won't know if it works for sure, but I sent this idea to FMA Direct support to verify that it would work (or not).

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the input, but I also just derailed this thread. Sorry to the OP. I'll copy my posts start a new thread about TP and the PowerLab8 charger.

Again, apologies...

BTW, if my idea works, I'll start with 4 Thunder Power packs.
