you can go with the hs-82 r the tower pro servo and dealerxtrme has the hobbymate motor with free shipping and works very good .esc is kind of tricky i would at least go with a 80a esc to be safe a lot of people are using the turgniy at hk.i using the align 550 gyro works good only if the head speed is high but i havent had a problem with the gyro only the fusonic 9257 clone tail servo. oh and i had to run a grund wire was getting a lot of static

planehazza thats a nice setup but after shipping it would be cheaper to get an exi500 from xheli.com plus you can even save more money because black friday sales are going on.plus it probably would be cheaper if you got the carbon exi500 with the tail upgrade attached http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20083 and here's a descent motor to i curently use it

That looks really nice! From what I've seen in the build videos, the parts look decent quality. This is where I'm starting to sound like a right tight git, but $200 is starting to get a bit too much - this is why I can't afford this hobby

If you guys want a motor that has plenty of power, I would recommend a Suppo
http://www.rchotdeals.com/Products/r...tors/3020.html
It the 1700KV one. It is a monster, and cheaper than a Scorpion.

And here I complain about the cost of just 2 CF blades, let's just add 3 more to the pot - and let's not even consider balancing 5 blades!

Has anyone with the EXI CF kit (like the one from XHeli) done the TT offered by Align install? Just wondering how nicely it fits in. I know Align's TT retrofit for the 450 involves some patience and grinding of the servo to fit, want to know how it is on the EXI. Thanks,

Mark

I did it on a customers EXI 500, it goes on easy.
No problems putting it in. It does give a more positive tail.
I am thinking about doing it to my T-REX 500.
I am waiting for a package from CY-MODEL.COM.
They have some clone 450 Pro, and 500 parts for both machines.
May use their TT.
Parts are half the price, shipping is not to bad either.

I am waiting on a 450 Pro kit to review, and another one that a customer has ordered.
I will let you know when it gets here and all about the kit!

At this moment must say I like the EXI 500, because of all the metal that comes with it.
But I love my REX 500.
It has over 250 flights on it and it is just my favorite rite now!

In that case, things you should upgrade.
The tail servo mounts suck.
The blade grips are loose, So I set the bearings up like a T-rex ones.
After a few flight the flybar cage got a little sloppy. Fixed that by putting in a few washers.

I changed out most of the bolts because they were mixed and matched. Some were metric and the others were standard.
The little bolts broke, so I suggest replacing them too. I have plenty of 500 parts laying around. So it was no big deal.

Lock tight everything, incase you have a vibe problem.
Tail blades weigh 10 grams more than align ones. Mine were 2 grams off each other.

All minor stuff, but it does take a little knowledge to see and fix. other wise some may fly it like it is.
