Default 130x main board on 450?!?

has anyone tried putting the 3n1 board from a 130x on a bigger heli? it would be pretty simple. just use a diode to drop the 5v from the bec to 4.2 to power the board. run the servos from the bec's 5v and use servo plugs signal wires to run from the board to the servos. and tap the 130x's ppm signal for the throttle........now we have as3x powered trex450! would it work in real life? is this a stupid idea? has anyone tried this...give me some feedback!

well, you would be giving up pirouette compensation for one thing, and it is more expensive than a ZYX gyro too

Yes, I believe it would. I've seen a similar project sometime ago with an mCPX board.
