Default Issue with Koby 40

So i have this set for heli mode 4, simple enough. When I spool up into a hover at about 2900 rpm (50%) on my 450x I am flying smooth and fine. Anything else greater the heli spools to the higher rpm for about 1 sec then reduces power, spools back to the higher rpm again, reduces power again. Over and over. It does not do this on the ground (odd)

Any ideas?

So, what is the difference between hover and standing on ground? Let's think...

Ahh, collective pitch --> motor current --> voltage level depending on battery's IR?

What happens on ground with negative collective?

To be honest I don't have a clue what you are suggesting because I understand how a collective pitch heli works. It's not like my RPMs were dropping a little, it was hitting 3600 RPM IN THE AIR and then while in a stable hover DRASTICALLY drop to 2900 then back to 3600, rinse and repeat all at 50% throttle. It would stay at 3600 rpm for about 5 secs before dropping back down to 2900 which would then slowly creep back up to 3600.

My issue was resolved by lowering the pinion which allowed me to run a higher throttle setting. It seems the Koby did not like running that low of a throttle with my Scorpion 2221-6.

Just curious... What FBL system are you using in this model? And what radio?

Sorry just noticed your response.

This is with my ikon, Scorpion 2221-6 on 450x w/ DX8 and it's actually still doing it.

It baffles me, If I spool up on the ground and flip into idle up while on the ground it is fine at first then when I get into a hover it starts doing it, over and over again. However, If I spool up in normal mode, come to a hover and THEN flip into IU no problem and it's rock solid. I don't get it. I'm glad I found a work around albeit I don't really understand it.
