MDX 500 vs. Align 600
Guys, I know this question will annoy some,
but whats the feeling regarding the new MA 50 electric vs. align 600, I know MA quality is great and align has had some problems, but seems the power setup for Align may be much less expensive, I am on the list for the new MA 50 electric, but just wanted to hear some thoughts comparing the two. Alan S. flights looked pretty good with his TREX 600 at XFC - made me think for a sec. Thanks, Jeff |

Alan could fly a brick
The MA bird will be able to run a longer boom, blades, and larger packs too. AKA Nitro 90 killer :p Did you see these MXR500 flights from this weekend? https://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=15290 It comes down to quality, durability, cost, and personal preference.

I'm going with the Align 600. I’ve been flying MA for many years but want something less expensive to crash. The 600 will also take a large pack it already accommodates 6s2p packs. You can also adjust the angle of the pack mounting for various CG and pack sizes. You can just as easily run the Align 600 on 10s1p as you can the MA heli. Also keep in mind that the Align only weights in @ a little over 6.5 pound with 600mm blades.
As far as comparing Alan’s flight to Eric’s they are both excellent pilots and either one could fly a brick. The Align 600 is very comparable to many of the high-end heli's on the market today, it's not a Trex. I feel either one is a good choice.

I have read mixed results with going with 10S on the 600. -I- for one am staying with nitro for now. I am gonna let everyone figure out what is "good" or "bad" then try to go back to electric maybe next year. The upfront costs for a big charger (or 2) plus balancers, plus extra packs, just seems to costly to -me-.
I did get to fly the MXR500e and was REALLY impressed

does anyone know the weight of the MXR500E ready to fly?
For me personally , i have a Trex450SE and a raptor 50SE with a OS hyper 50 , i really want to go to all electric , my best friend just bought a Trex 600 and i helped him build it and set it up , he's got a 450se also now he's all electric, he loves it , he just ordered 2 4500 6S2P Tpower Lipos for his 600 and i got my 1010 TP charger and balancer , i just want to wait till the MXR is out till i make my decision , on one hand the 600 is cheaper and comes in a combo kit also battery's are a little cheaper , on the other hand, the MXR is amazing to watch fly , quality is outstanding which is status Quo for MA. Decisions , decisions |
