Default ZYX-S2 won't recognize RX

Sorry for another ZYX thread but this has me frustrated to a level that I've never been before.

After lots of troubleshooting, came to the conclusion that the previous ar6115e RX was faulty. RX stopped bind to the TX completely.

I received my brand new ar6210 RX. Installed it. Bound it. No issues, bound first try. My luck is changing right? Wrong. Now the ZYX just keeps flashing the yellow/orange RX error light.

I have gone into the SW to make sure it was still set for DSMX and it is. But I can't get everything to get along. Below are some pictures of how everything is set up. Maybe something is connected wrong, but I doubt it. But an extra set of eyes never hurts.

It doesnt look like you have it hooked up as a satellite, it looks like a conventional receiver connection. Your receiver may have a satellite receiver connected, but that doesnt make the ZYX a satellite type connection. As shown in the software for a satellite type connection, the satellite receiver plugs into the RUD plug on the ZYX using a special satellite adapter cable (one with shrinkwrap around a little PC board)

So this is an additional piece I need to purchase?

Now if I unplug the satellite, will it work or do I absolutely have to have the adapter?

If you want it to work the way you have it connected, just change the receiver type in the software to conventional receiver (having the zyx connected). Might have to power off and on and re-check that it took and do it a couple times. It should then come up without the yellow led blinking and you can go on.
The cable I am referring to is needed only if you want to have a satellite receiver ONLY. No other receiver. I use that for the 250 to save weight and space.

Alright, I reflashed the zyx with the RX type set to conventional. Now I get my blue light and red light respectively when switching gyro modes.

Now I'm curious as to why it links under this setting but not the others? I was under the impression that because it's a dsmx RX it should have been under the dsmx sw setting. Or are those strictly for satellites only? Just trying to understand.

Yes everything other than Conventional receiver is some kind of satellite only connection.
In a satellite connection, the ZYX expects the receiver signal (all channel pulses) to come in on the RUD port. If it doesnt see that, or it is not the format it expects (DSMX,DSM-1,SBUS,etc), it will flash the yellow led.
In a conventional receiver case, the ZYX doesnt care that your receiver is dsmx or anything. The DSMX term (I think) applies to the radio frequency modulated signal from the transmitter. The only thing the ZYX (or any gyro) can cope with is the decoded signal which is a train of ~ 1ms pulses from 0 to 5 volts or so. The DSM-1,DSM-2 ... etc probably applies to the order or frequency of the pulses in the pulse train.
Of course there are combined receiver-gyros which are different animals.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Surely I won't be the only one this will help.
