Default Walkera GCP v2 - power loss to motor

My GCPv2 started losing sufficient power to keep lift. Thinking the main motor was wearing out, I replaced both motors, blades and frame (broken skids) only to find a break in the black lead wire from rx board to battery. I now thought I had found the problem and it would be an easy fix! I ordered and soldered on a new lead wire & connector from rx to battery, but it still does not transmit enough power to the motors. The new solder job seems good and does not overlap anything, but perhaps I am overlooking something.

The servos respond as they should in throttle hold, and seem to have a solid connection. I have tested 3 different brand batteries with the same results. Occasionally while trying to fly you can hear the main motor get the juice it's looking for and spin-up quickly and shoot for the sky, but it quickly loses the power and becomes uncontrollable.

The blades/shaft spin very free, and I have moved the main motor pinion in and out from the main gear without any change (unless over tight or loose).

What else can I try? Is there a repair service for these? I would like to try swapping the rx board, but don't want to purchase a spare if that isn't the problem...
