Thanks metalwizard! It took me about a month and a half, flying 6-10 batts per week. I thought I was never gonna be able to fly it. What really made the difference was getting the DX6i. All I could do was hover with the stock Tx. The new Tx made a huge difference once I put the settings in from the SR Bible and connected the yellow wire to the receiver.
Its like a whole new bird now. Anyways, keep it up and you'll get there too!

Good flying, great progress! Once you have full on circuits down and lots of FFF under your belt, you should bind back to stock Tx for a laugh haha! Nice work

So the Dx6i really made it fly easier?? I seem to have good control of the bird. I just tend to over do it. after flying a FP for a long time I am used to putting in big stick control, and that is what killing me.

Short answer: YES!

Long answer: Yes, because you can dial in expo to accommodate your "panic attack" thumbs that occur when you are coming out of using an FP style heli. The SR flies much better with the DX6i since you have better control over how you set your transmitter up for your flying style.

@DKS_ONE: Thanks! I was thinking about doing that already, Im really curious to see what its gonna be like. But you're right, I'm gonna wait till I have more practice under by belt so I can get the full effect. Haha!

@GSPI: Thanks! Yup one small success at a time! Feels great to fly w/o the training gear.

@metalwizard: Sounds like the same issues I had. The problem isn't that your over-doing it, the problem is that the stock Tx settings are too slow and make it very difficult to correct your movements when you go too far or get in a jam. The stock Tx felt so docile that I couldn't do any turns without saying a prayer, nor could I get out of any jams..and the "idle up" mode was way too twitchy. Thats where the DX6i comes in. Being able to set your own parameters to match your flying ability is crucial with the SR. And the settings in SR Bible really got me started smoothly. So to answer your question, yes, with the right settings the DX6i made it easier to fly the SR. I was about to shelf this heli for good but now its my collective trainer before I go the 450.

I actually left mine on for good cause I use the SR as a practice bird for my 450's. That gear has saved me
A ton of money you can literally
Slam it on the ground and it's fine ( as long as your dampeners are stiff and you run four shims) lol I've even bounced of of trees safely and rocks lol. But congrats for taking it off good for you!

I hear ya Excalibur3. I did enjoy the feeling of knowing if I slam her down I got nothing to worry about. But I have got to a point where those times are alot less frequent. I will say the heli felt alot lighter with it off and seems a bit more agile. Could just be my imagination...So far so good though!
