Blade CP Pro 2 flight and crash.....battery ran out.
Fried my battery and also the throttle hold didn't seem to work too good. Still, no damage at all other than a fubar'd battery now. I was sure a battery should last longer than 5mins. Got this a week ago and started doing some loops and rolls, still a bit twitchy but I'm still learning.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V92qKI5oA5E Mind you it was windy so I guess it uses more power than when calm? Dan

But I was full negative pitch and it just seemed to bog down and go in. I have no trouble admtting when it's due to pilot error (most of my crashes) but why would a light crash kill the battery? Or do you mean because the blades were still trying to turn in the grass and that they were obstructed it overheated the battery?

what happened to the battery is it puffed, low voltage ? I know with mine i get about 8 minutes of flight time but thats with throttle hold off and just mild flying so 5 minutes could seem about right i guess

Thanks man. Yeah it ballooned up and was really hot. Now it doesn't give enough power to even lift the Blade even after a full charge so maybe one of the cells is dead. For now I'm using it to fly the CP2 which works fine with it. Weird.

Lynx.1677.....Nice flying and sorry to hear about the mishap. I was watching the video and noticed the skids. What type of struts and skids do you have on your blade? Thanks!

Lynx.1677.....Thanks for the info on the skid set-up. Does it make the Blade more stable?

Yeah much easier to fly in any sort of wind. It was a bit unstable before that.

Need some part numbers
Lynx.1677 ....Do you have some part numbers for the parts you used? I can't seem to find them on-line in the states. If I had the part numbers it would make things a lot easier. Thanks!

Honeybee frame: EK1 0248 King2 battery hanger: EK1 0559 King2 skids: EK1 0560 You will need to trim a little bit of plastic off the rear part of the battery hanger just below the screw so that it doesn't get in the way of the main gear. I did this with a pair of cutters but you can do it with a dremel drill or even file it down.
