Default Ikon Rear Drift

I've posted about this before when I had a bad rear drift on my Trex 250/Ikon. Since then, I've tried ikons on 4 other machines 450-700 sized, and I still finding myself having to constantly give forward elevator to correct the tail from dropping/rear drift. I've tried cyclic gain adjustment, ticking the swash forward a bit, cog perfecting, but I still always get the tail drop.

I didn't get this issue with beastx or 3gx (the only others I've tried). Other than the tail drop, the Ikon flies great. I'm wondering if it has to do with no elevator precomp or something. I just can't tune the ikon not to drop the tail.

I'm usually 3d-ing all over the place, so a hover tail-drop isn't really that big of a deal, but it's there. Anyone else notice this?

I'm thinking about trying vbar, been wanting to for a while.

I have 6 helis currently running Brain/Icon and can honestly say have never had that.
Also many other helis that I no longer have ran them as well.

I use Soko heli tool to set up my helis and could not have a more perfect flying heli from my 450 mini Protos all the way up to my Protos max, synergys and Goblins,
Here is a video link, the set up method can be utilized with other level tools but does work best with theirs.

FYI, my self level works perfect with no trimming when I use this method

The object, perfect plumb shaft, level swash, level "0" blade tracking

RC helicopter quick setup guide with the Soko Kit (any heli version) (4 min 38 sec)

No trim/subtrim, and my radio is calibrated. The worst was on my 250. I took the ikon off and put on a 3GX..... no more drift. The 250 would actually slow down in forward flight, come to a stop, then start to fly backwards. Didn't do that with the 3GX.

I'm using traditional swash levelers and pitch guage. I've even tilted the swashes forward a click or two, to no avail.

I never messed with the PID gains, so maybe my solution might be there.

That soko tool looks nice!

you followed the tx setup screen correctly? you adjusted your centers to what the ikon wants, right?

Yep, all travel is 0 at mid stick, and 100% at full stick on the TX screen in every channel. The only exception is throttle, which is calibrated to my castle ESC's instead of the ikon.
