Default blade balancing

im new to helis and ive just purchased a 550 and it has an awful vibration. i want to check to see if the blades are balanced but i cant find anything on it, do you just see if they both weigh the same? do you add weight or subtract weight? and how do i add/subtract weight from a blade if so?

Go into search on this forum and type blade balancing, read as much as you can for your heli, its a big learning curve. Also check out Finless and Flight school. The more you can read/watch the more rewarding and enjoyable this Great hobby will be.I spent 6 months just doing research before i got my first heli,i am so glad i did nothing more heartbreaking than crashing in first 10 seconds of take off.
All the best
Mark

You really have to go through the basic setups... see the Finless videos on CCPM setup (1 and 2) and there is also blade balancing and tracking. You *have* to go through these setups. There is no such thing as a ready-to-fly heli, despite what the advertising on the box says. Read around on the forum, there is no substitute for going through the proper setup on the heli. Most of the time, just going through the basic setup will locate and fix the issue, but after you are all done, if there is still vibes, then there are things you can check.
