Default Auxiliary Fuel Tank

Has anyone here added an auxiliary fuel tank to their Fury 55?

If so, could you describe the tank you used (supplier or part number) and how you mounted it?

A picture would be very helpful if possible.

Thanks!

When I first started out I used an aux tank to get more stick time but I took it off bc of the limited mounting options and it just looked ugly. The brand I used was maverick but any brand will suffice. Srry I don't have any pics but to mount I utilized the second screw from the right that holds the fuel tank in place

Keep in mind the purpose of a header tank is to ensure bubble free constant fuel flow to your engine. Not really meant to add flight time.

Also a proper header tank setup uses no clunk, just a stiffer piece of fuel tubing approx 7/8 the length of the tank.

Thanks for the replies.

I had previously purchased the tank in the link below but had not figured out a way to mount it that was acceptable to me.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...VSEARCH=LXPLE3

This evening I drilled two holes in the short side of the L-bracket that came with the tank. and then removed the tank retainer and put the L-bracket on it using the rear rubber mounting screw through the short side of the bracket and put the longer side on the bottom. I then drilled a hole in the tank retainer to match the one in the bracket. I could not fit a standard 3 mm hex screw behind the bracket as it was too close to the tank. I used a pop rivet in the other hole to secure the bracket with two fasteners.

As you can see, I then secured the tank with two wire ties. The tank seems secure and the bracket will not rotate. I have not flown it yet obviously but it looks close to what I was wanting in that it is about centered with the carb and seems to be securely mounted.

I'll look at it for a few days to decide if I want to leave it like this or try something else.

Looks good to me. Mines a quick uk one but is mounted roughly the same as yours.

I use on of the small Thunder TIger "Raptor" tanks. The mount fits perfectly on one of the screws on the CF brace that retains the main tank. Its not ALOT of fuel- but it still is more than enough for my use. I run a YS 56 and it also worked well with a muffler pumped OS 55HZ, that decided to violently disassemble its piston and connecting rod last week.

I've never had any fuel starvation problems, but I like 8 minute flying times and remember one of the least useful items in ANY aviation endeavour is the fuel you leave on the GROUND.
PS: MORRIS9982-that is a really nice installation-looks great.
