I have some 4500s and I'm thinking the same thing. Just a question for me if my 4530-450 will fit and how will the gearing work out. I may pull the 4530 out of the x7 to test fit it in one of my spare Logo chassis just to see tonight

4400 6s gens ace will fit in mine , was there a problem with the tail pullys ? they changed both to aluminum . and the front battery support looks bolted on to the sides , anyone have a 3d printer laying around ?

looking at the pics again , maybe the front of the frame was cutout and the reinforcement bolted to re re-inforce it ?

When I had my 600SE I shaved the frame openings either side so i could fit Turnigy 30C 6s 5000mAh packs. They're nice and short (only 145mm long) so they didn't stick too far out the front of the frame. It would be nice if the 690SX comes with pre-cut frames but I have no qualms about getting my hand file out again.

So what is that new plastic “extension” piece bolted to the bottom of the frame?

I have Gens Ace 5300mah 6S 45C packs in my 550SX and they fit without modification, and others have said the Revo 5000mah 60C batteries fit without modification.

I think the 690SX will be a good lightweight 700ish series to beat around. We'll see how they do after they are released, but I think I might lean towards the 690SX over a TT E700.

I'm hoping the 690SX has a tail gear ratio that allows using 105 tail blades vs. the 115's people are putting on the E700.

I'm betting that it protects the landing gear tabs on the main frames, so we won't hear people complaining about breaking those tabs off. It may attach to the frames in a more bulletproof way and have a sacrificial attachment to the landing gear.

yeah thats what they said was to protect the tabs... I think it also makes a extension to support the packs making a tray it can sit on

I think the 690sx will have fewer gear strip and TT issues than the 700e but I suspect the bell cranks and head design on the 700e might make some people prefer it. Then again, the same could be said for the head on the Logo.

I have heard that the E700 is extremely responsive. I'm sure the bell crank and intermediate head lever design have a lot to do with that. It also has a very convenient battery tray that snaps in easily and some other very nicely thought out features.

I think it is OK to look at 3 or 4 helis and like them all for different reasons.

Mikado has a very "simple" low part count design that has a well deserved reputation for flying very well. If you are flying 550, 600, 690 sized helis you can also stock a lot of common parts and know almost instinctually how to take care of them all.

I quote "simple" because of the amount of effort that it took to design the frame so that the end result was simple. The design was a much harder effort than if it used CF a frame and aluminum.

I'm seriously considering the 690sx for the 'common parts' aspect myself. Right now I have a Logo 500 and two Logo 600 3Ds that already share a LOT of parts so, having another heli that shares parts seems like a no brainer as long as meets my other criteria.

I REALLY wanted a plastic Logo700 but the 'common parts' has me thinking the 690sx makes more sense.

For those who don't have a stable of Logos, the choice is probably harder.

I've tried to keep my fleet varied to make things interesting.

I would have trouble bringing a 550SX, 600SX and 690SX to the airfield. In my eyes they would seem redundant even though that is an extremely practical fleet to have.

I've heard people talk about having a 6003D that they had many hundreds of trouble free flights with and felt like it is an extension of their body but then got bored with it and sold it only to miss it later.

The tough part about this hobby is that it isn't very rational. We want things for reasons that we sometimes don't even understand.

I like all of my helis for different reasons, but I think they all fly very well. I also know deep down that I may never get a 690SX and will more likely get something more exotic next because one is practical but the other excites me and I have trouble buying helis that don't excite me.

This is exactly why my 500 is setup very different from my 600s. Even though the mechanics are similar they fly extremely different so that I don't feel like I own 3 of the same heli but in different sizes.

I think that made sense... LOL

Mark, are the TDR and Banshee not exotic enough for you?

Personally, I think the 690SX might take the place of the Logo 700 I've been waiting years for. Mainly because I never really wanted a machine that required more than 12s 5000mAh power.

Hopefully, my HeliJive 120 will be up to the task.

Your HJ 120 will be more than up to the task. I have one on my TDR driving a 700-52 and my TDR is about the same weight as the 690SX. It flies great and does really well from 1100rpm - 2000rpm.

The Logo 690SX looks like a great heli and I'm sure you will be very happy with it. I would pick one in a heart beat over a Logo 700.

You get desensitized to things and they become less exotic to you with familiarity.

Yes, That would be great if it is. I just know it was advised to go with a 160A instead of 120A ESC.

Also, I'm sure there will be guys stretching the 690SX slightly so it will accommodate 700-710 blades.

Maybe if you are getting a CC but you do understand that the Jive 120HV is VERY conservatively rated!

I'm running a Jive 120HV on my TDR and it barely comes down warm with 710mm Radix V2 blades on it running head speeds up to 2,000 rpm.

I've seen Log files showing people hitting 200+A peaks with the Jive 120HV with no problems. I think some have gotten into the high 200A approaching 300A range. Just put a decent heat sink on it and forget about it.

Not only that but the BEC circuit is bulletproof. I just run Mode 4 and let it do the rest.

The TDR is almost identical in weight as the 690SX so the load should be very similar.

I wouldn't bother with a Kosmik unless you are getting a 700 XXTREME.
