Default 700e Canopy Mount Options??

So i'd like to upgrade the stock canopy mounts to something "better".....it appears there are a couple popular options. The RC Booya rear mounts or the Quick UK magnetic mounts. From trying to do some research it seems like these 2 are for the nitro version only? Something about the version 2 electric canopy being too rounded at the front?? What are guys using these days? I have the blue and white 700e canopy.

Thanks in advance

Spence

I had a spare couple of Booya mounts for my 600 and used them on the back
of my 700. I didn't like the lower mounts, so tossed them and fitted the same clamp
on the front also used on the 600.
Now the canopy is off and on in seconds and sits just as good

Actually RCbooya sells the rear mounts for 700E specifically, look again . But they do mention that they are not recommended for the front. I just use them on the rear and stock (no clips) on the front.

Sirolf, do you have a part number for that clamp?

Thanks

I certainly do..it's HN6088 http://www.readyheli.com/HN6088-Cano...o_p_33624.html

Just slide on the canopy till it's pretty much center, drill holes an fasten!

Quick UK magnetic on rear
Stock on front

For front load battery setup very fast to remove canopy. No drilling of canopy.

This was originally posted a long time ago..

The keychain has a hole already in the receiver half so all you need do is screw it on a proper length spacer and mount on the frames

Are these the ones your using, http://grandrc.chainreactionweb.com/...ducts_id=50201 and if so they fit the original 700e 3G canopy? Everything I read on them say for nitro. Any other parts needed to install?

Hi Tom. Yes, it is really confusing because on the Quick UK site it still says Nitro only but these are for both nitro and electric versions I believe.

That is correct, the nitro ones are good for the 700E.

It was hard to pull the trigger on that purchase myself but man are they great!
In progress photo..I use them with the plastic and rubber gromments for a little flex.

Am I the only one feeling that the companies which manufacture the upgrades are using our addiction to make a bigger profit on our expense with no proportion to the products they sell?
Come on - 40$ for canopy holders?? I can purchase 10 rounded strong magnets the same size needed for only 1$...maybe I should try and make them myself and then sell them to you guys for 1/2 the price..

Agreed, seemingly overpriced but the magnets are cuped and act as a guide, nice thumbscrew type bits, it all just works together very, very nicely...I felt better about the $$$ spent once I had them in hand and even better once installed and tested.
