This has been far and away the funnest heli I've ever flown and owned.
JASON671, I'd love to buy your model, but simply have too many irons in the fire already! You should keep it and enjoy it!

im going to build and fly it. I emailed thunder tiger and they said they are still going to have parts available for a long time to come and some parts will be interchangeable with the new model.

Good luck on certain parts. I found that the X50e spindle is no longer available. They show a part #PV1441 for the X50 as compatible and it's not. I also found that the CF tail boom is discontinued. Only option was the alum version. The CF would have been $45, the alum was $8 so I'm not complaining too much. But as of right now I'm screwed on a spindle. Not sure if the tail boom is the same on the nitro, but now I have (2) X50 spindles that I can't use lol. No one had 1441 in stock except for a shop in Michigan so I ordered (2). If someone wants or needs PV1441, PM me.
I will be parting out my X50e. |

The CF boom was long since discontinued since no one was really buying it when the just as good aluminum was available. Same deal with turnbuckles :/ My X50 came with both and I figured I'll just use it as is until it gets dirt napped. I know there were two spindles floating around....
I really hope that TT isn't giving the x50 crowd the shaft just like that. Do any reps from TT watch this subforum? The new X50 I have smacks great, but I'd be pretty bummed if I have to start thinking about parting out a month old heli

What did they say about the new model? Is it Nitro? Is it 50 size?

Thanks. This info was brought to my attention yesterday. Thunder Tiger responded to my support request as well and are sending me the PV1444 thrust bearings as a customer service. I already have the PV1441 spindle.
I found the spindle at another online shop and ordered the thrust bearings already from avidrc.com since Tower didn't have them in stock. We'll see how long it takes to get the set TT is sending me. |

This is what Thunder Tiger Helicopter support sent to me today.
Thanks for contacting Air Support. I'm not aware of a nitro .50 size model being released, but check out Tower Hobbies online at www.towerhobbies.com for the latest Thunder Tiger release status. The X50's are slowly being discontinued, but we'll have the parts for a long time to come. Best regards, Thuder Tiger Nitro is Dead! Long Live Nitro!

With Align updating kits every year they probably felt left out. Maybe they will invent some new reason to buy a new one like the DFC head. I would like to see the tail rod change to a carbon rod with a bell crank instead of the bend in the wire although I have not had any problem with it.

This would be my motor of choice. I am running the Redline 53, and it is quite good, all things considered. However, I would highly recommend fitting it with an O.S. carb from the start. You will be rewarded with ease of tuning. I have the O.S. 60L on mine, but recently picked up the 40L (3-needle version from O.S. 55HZR) for a future Redline 56. The advantage of the Redline with O.S. carb over an O.S. 55 is perhaps rear bearing issues. Of course, the price is there too. Ultimate power, get the YS 60sr, but mine has been extremely tempermental.

Re: 391.86$ tower hobbies - last version available. Discontinued ?
I am using the Redline 56h and I love it. Still using the stock carb and the only issue I have ever had is one time the whole needle valve assembly unscrewed instead of just the needle itself. After screwing it back in there have been no issues.
