Default Should I get a better setup

I went from an Racers Edge Solo80 (80 watt) to a Racers Edge Twin 400 (200 watt per channel) when I started flying 4s planes. I am now flying Bigger Helis that use a 6s 4500. I can charge at 8 amps on a 6s but it seems that on 6s it doesn't balance as well as it does on 4s and below. The balance isn't to far off but it's at least .01 volts off and it does take a LONG time to balance. I would like to parallel charge up to 4 of those batteries at a time so I was thinking the iCharger 308DUO would probably fit my needs. It would be 18 amps per channel.

Should I just go ahead and unload the 500-600 bucks to get a setup for the iCharger 308DUO?

Agreed, you should be able to equip yourself with a 308duo and server power supplies for about $400 or less. That's what I have, and so do three of my flying buddies now. Great charger!

I might be interested in one of your power supplies. Could you post some examples?

sent u a couple pics in ur pm. they can either be 2 12v 575 watt 42 amp or 1 24v 1150 watt 42 amp. you would use the 24 v for icharger. i have a icharger and hyperion and use 40 amp for my 12 s packs and been using for a few years. works great. comes with a cord to use the 2 supplies so they are plugged in but only 1 wall supply.

I have the 308Duo, I'm very happy with it. Charging at most (3) 6S 4100 with it. The 30A/channel can give me 2.5C with all my packs on one channel.

With 4 of them, you might consider the 406Duo, if you wanted 40A, to reach 2C with all of them on one channel.

You could certainly do 2 per channel with the 308Duo, and hit 3.3C that way, if you wanted to charge faster.

It's a question of how you want to charge, and how fast.

But my 308Duo has been great. It let me fly my big heli more this season, as I could easily field charge it. My 10A charger was too slow for field charging those packs.
