On my 7HV and Chronos I have the low voltage cutoff on the YGEs turned on at the lowest settings (3V per cell I think). However, when I get the chance I will turn it off.

On my X3s I have the low voltage cutoff on the HW50 turned off. The advantage is I can then use both 6S for normal and 4S for lowish head speed flying. This is the reason I will be turning off low voltage cutoff on the 7HV and Chronos as I want to experiment with low head speed flying with one 6S or 7S lipo.

What do you guys think of this setup?

7HVU
Stock motor (Latest version)
Hobbywing 120a platinum HV (V1)
BK-7001HV cyclic servos
BK-8005HV tail servo
Vbar clone
Hobbywing RPM sensor
2s lipo for electronics

I fly 3D and big air, like using a lot of pitch and going fast haha. I'm trying to advance further in my 3D flying, working towards smack flying which is still a long way away yet. Hoping to use around 2100 rpm and 12-13* pitch.

I've got all the components except the servos so far, so when I get my tax return that's where my money will go!

Looks good. Not sure about the vbar clone though. Never tried one. Use a 14t pinion to get the potential out of the stock motor. It's kv is quite low and needs the 14t for good power even down at 2100.

Cheers Quinn!

I'm pretty happy with the Vbar clone, as much as I would like the real deal I can't afford it at the moment, I owe my dad alot of money now haha (I've bought all the servos and electronic components!)

I'd like to run about 2200 HS, I ordered new head links on Tuesday so should have added a 14T pinion to the order then, I've got the stock 13t on it at the moment. I'll get the 14T some other time haha

So it's all pretty much setup and should be ready to fly tomorrow when the links arrive, weather doesn't look to good though so maiden might not be for a few days yet!

Yeah for 2200 definitely get the 14. It will fly fine on the 13, you just won't be getting the best power.

Lol, yeah I think that would work fine. I bit too much for me to spend on an esc but its about the best you can get.

If its the size your worried about, I think you can fit just about anything in there, but I'm not 100% sure.

Not needed yes. I just have one sitting in a box and rather use it than buy a new esc.

34mm is a perfect extension length from the bell to the opposite end of the coiunterbearing with no shaft remaining protruding from the bearing. No idea what your shaft length is. It looks short to me, but I may be mistaken. Goblin edition will be too short, the XL edition would be plenty and likely want to cut it shorter.

One other comment on the Kosmik. One of our friends here lost his Kosmik in a crash. Think about a severe nose-in crash and the potential of losing the ESC in a totaled helicopter. That's one scenario, although low in probability that is way too expensive for me. It actually swayed me away from it.

I have had the 7hv for 2 years now... Started with a budget setup and have gone through many different electronics upgrade through out this time... I finally feel comfortable posting here

What I started with...
7HV V1 airframe
Motor: Compass 7hv gen1 motor C-5828
ESC: Hobbywing 120HV
Cyclic: Align DS610
Tail: Align DS650
FBL: Robird
BEC: Direct 2s LiFe pack
RX: R6008SB S-FHSS with Futaba T8J
Lipo: Cheap chinese lipos

What I have now:
Compass 7hv ULT upgrades
Motor: Compass SZ4926 V2 with updated can
ESC: Jeti Mezon 130A with Internal BEC
Cyclic: Servoking DS-695 HV
Tail: BLS256HV
FBL: Mini V-Bar with Pro ( I Prefer iKon )

Default My Compass 7HV Ultimate.

Hi Guys, I picked this up a little while ago from a guy here in Adelaide.

So after a bit of a break from flying ( enjoying other hobbies etc ) it was time to get a bigger Heli, but as luck should have it, work has been awesome, So a couple of larger birds have made it my way this and a stretched synergy E5.

As I haven't had much time outside of work and trying to sleep, it has sat idle in the shed, so after some prompting from a member of an Aussie forum ( Ozzy Mozzy ) I decided to get it out and set it up.

The heli has the following components...

Kontronic Pyro 700-52
YGE 120HV
Fullsize V-bar Pro with Pro software with Spektrum sats
Align ds 615 on cyclic and a torq bl 9188 on the tail
Optipower power guard thingy
Gryphon voltage reg
Gov sensors for use with v-bar

The heli also came with a complete second airframe, 2 x new canopies plus the one on it and an additional 2 sets of main blades, as well as the main and tails fitted.

The Tx i am using is a JR Pcm9xII LE ( or also known as the JR 9303 ).

As I have flown before and have had a bit of a break form flying enjoying other hobbies, I never used bank switching and governors before, so fingers crossed.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers Dave.
