Wow
Finally got the Gaui blades on after ~10 decent flights with the Xtreme blades. WOW what a difference. Pitch pumps are great now....almost Trex250ish....Also gonna try the red dampers.
Gonna make another comment in the other thread, but this was ONLY possible after shimming the rear servos and hot gluing the crap out of the entire area!! Without the hot glue the little bird was vibrating itself to death with all the blades @100%. And yes I balanced them all (and the weeee tail blades....) This heli has a design flaw with the 'main shaft tower' But, when it is flying right, it is one sweet heli !! Cheers...Keith

Got my hdx 255mm CF blades today from HeliDirect. They look ok for the price (~$18, plus shipping). My main concern is that they do not have a brass eyelet/sleeve in the blade root holes, just a bare CF hole. I'm not sure if this is an issue or not? Any ideas, like wicking a little thin CA in these holes? Thanks.
BTW, they are a lot more flexible than the Clubheli 255mm CF blades I'm currently using, which are very nice (and have brass eyelets/sleeves). Cheers, TomC

I wouldn't do that. Most blades have a polystyrene foam core, and if that thin CA wicked into an area of foam it will dissolve it.

You will, and shims can be just about anything the right thickness. Washers, plastic you have laying around. If they are the same root thickness as the club heli blades (and I think they are) you need about .065" shim on each side. I had some thin shims that came with a Radix blade set that I stacked up (two .025 and a .015 on each side).
In the past, I made shims to run Align blades in a B400 from those thin roll-up cutting boards you can get at the dollar store. They are just about the right thickness.
