3s motor timings
What timings are best for the 3s motor?
I'm using a YEP (YGE) with the stock 3s motor. I see on the scorpion website the recommended settings are 5 degrees and 8kHz pwm. The YGE manual states that 18 degrees is default and smaller timings are meant for inrunners. I suspect that there might be differences between ESC brands how this timing is interpreted. Is going lower on the timing safe?

Usually going lower with the timing is safe as it reduces motor current and thus power and heat build up. Going higher has the opposite effect but there is a point where you do not get more power and just loose efficiency.
The timing numbers from Scorpion and YGE differ as they have different methods to measure. Go with the YGE settings and work from there
