I really wouldn't worry - most if not all manufacturers have something ''special' in the pipeline and would wither on the vine if they didn't. Given the length of time of the Aurora debut I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a new MA bird - the Stratus is still cutting edge technology and a very fine piece of engineering - it occured to me yesterday what was different about this build - NO CA !! - I have only encountered two bits of plastic so far (fan shroud and anti-rotation fitting) - I would have no regrets about spending my $$$ here - I decided to go with one rather than the Aurora as it could be in my hands in 2 weeks and had been throroughly beta tested

Posted Final Frame Assembly 32MB - finishing off the left frame pointing out a few changes or instruction errors - fitting out right frame and then mating up with the left and lower frame assembly - really enjoyable build this

On MA's website they mention Bobby and Nick placing 2nd and 3rd on the XFC, but no mention that they flew a prototype. If its true that means its still in the very early stages of being developed. I bet they'll take at least untill 2009 before they release it. That means I'll be buying a Stratus conversion kit first.

thats because it's a SECRET. now hush.
I don't think it will take that long... Especially given that it placed high on it's first outing.

I have it on good authority that the trial machines at XFC were extremely early prototypes - only 2-3 weeks old and that it would be at least 9-12 months before we see any new 90 machine release from MA

Nice vids John,

Quick question

I have been scoping the Spectra G and it looks like it has some similarities with the Stratus, is this right or my wishful thinking?

Thanks

Robert

The tail and head arec exactly the same, and the frame is almost the same. It just uses a heavier engine.

Is it a bad idea to use a zip tie around the clunk line outlet? I keep reading Hayes line slips off but I've never heard of anyone using a zip tie. (nitro noob here)

Posted Rotor Head build - took a bit longer than anticipated - quite straightforward except inserting the inner radial bearings was a PIA

I noticed you don't use braided sleeving John. I never did either, untill I noticed some chaffed wires on my Fury. I wouldn't take any chances if I were you.

There's just a little error in your editing John, when doing the carbon flybar cage you already have the 2 balls on the flybar carrier, and after you mounted the carbon cage parts you add them in the build.

The Stratus flybar carrier is going to be the first part in my fury to stratus conversion.
