GREY SCREEN

bought a cheapo fpv camera on line ,(sony 700tvl) can see the setup screen for settings but screen is still grey, read that some cameras run off 12.v, have tried connecting 3s lipo directly to camera still no luck.

Lens cap? Typically if you can see a grey screen it means camera problem, but if you can see the settings screen then... Lens cap?

update, was how I had the 12v power to camera, thought camera would get 12v from transmitter,, ran separate 12v signal directly to camera ,
